The explanation for this is quite banal and lies in the incorrect use of the existing method and non-compliance with existing rules. Ho'oponopono and faith are two inseparable things that activate energy. Many people expect quick results, so they skip important stages of preparing and cleansing the body. It is important to follow all the rules flawlessly.

Ho'oponopono and Orthodoxy

Among the people who regularly use techniques for cleansing negativity, there are many believers of different religions. Pronouncing affirmations and self-hypnosis cannot become an obstacle to faith. Experts say that the method is beyond understanding and in no way interferes with going to church and saying prayers. Many practitioners claim that ho'oponopono and Christianity have much in common; during meditation, they often see saints next to them, who are helpers of all believers.

Two years ago I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a whole ward of criminally insane people without ever seeing one of them. This psychiatrist simply looked through the hospital chart of each patient, and then looked inside himself to understand how he himself created this person's illness. As the doctor improved himself, the patient got better.

When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal others by healing themselves? How could even the best specialist cure insane criminals?

It didn't make sense. It didn't make sense, so I refused to believe the story.

However, I heard it again a year later. The therapist was said to have used a Hawaiian healing method called ho'oponopono. I had never heard of this, and still the name could not get out of my head. If this story was true, I had to find out more.

In my understanding, “full responsibility” has always meant responsibility for my thoughts and actions. Anything beyond that was beyond my control. I think that's how most people think of full responsibility. We are responsible for what we do, but not for what everyone else does. A Hawaiian therapist who treated the mentally ill taught me a new way of thinking about full responsibility.

His name is Dr. Iheliakala Hugh Len. The first time we talked on the phone for about an hour. I asked him to tell me the full story of his work at the hospital. He explained that he worked at Hawaii State Hospital for four years. The ward where the “violent” were kept was dangerous. Psychologists quit every month. People walked through this ward with their backs pressed against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. There was nothing pleasant about living, working or spending time in this place.

Dr. Len told me he had never seen a patient. He agreed to sit in the office and review their hospital records. Looking through the cards, he worked on himself. As he worked on himself, the patients began to get better.

“After a few months, patients who had to be in straitjackets began to be allowed to walk freely,” he told me. “And those who were previously given a lot of tranquilizers stopped taking them. Moreover, people who had no chance of leaving the hospital began to be discharged.”

I was shocked.

“In addition,” he continued, “the staff began to come to work with joy. Work avoidance and layoffs stopped. In the end we had more staff than we needed because more patients were being discharged and all the staff were coming to work. The ward is closed today.”

That's when it was time for me to ask the million dollar question: " What did you do to yourself that made these people change?”

“I was just treating the part of me that was creating them.”- he said.

I did not understand.

Dr. Len explained that taking full responsibility for your life means that everything in your life - simply because it is in your life - is your responsibility. In a very real sense, the whole world was created by you.

Ugh. It's hard to accept. Taking responsibility for what I say and do is one thing. Being responsible for what everyone in my life says and does is completely different. And yet, the truth is that if you take full responsibility for your life, then everything you see, hear, feel or otherwise experience is your responsibility, because it is part of your life.

This means that terrorist attacks, the president, the economy - without exception, everything that you are experiencing and that you do not like - you can cure.

All this does not exist on its own, all this is a projection from within you.

The problem is not with them, the problem is with you.

And to change them, you must change yourself.

I know this is hard to understand, let alone accept or actually apply in life. Blaming is much easier than accepting full responsibility, but as I spoke with Dr. Len, I began to understand that treatment for him meant loving himself. If you want to improve your life, you need to heal your life. If you want to heal anyone - even a mentally ill criminal - you can do it by healing yourself.

I asked Dr. Len how he treated himself. What exactly was he doing when he looked at patients' medical records.

"I just said 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again," he explained.

And it's all?

Yes, that was all.

It turns out that self-love is the best way to improve yourself, and by improving yourself, you will improve your world. Let me quickly give an example of how this works. One day, a person wrote me an email that upset me. In the past, I would have worked my emotional buttons or tried to explain myself to this person. This time I decided to try Dr. Len's method. I began to quietly say, “Forgive me” and “I love you.” I didn't contact anyone in particular. I simply awakened the spirit of love in order to heal within myself what was creating the circumstances.

Less than an hour later I received an email from the same person. He apologized for his previous letter. Remember that I did not perform any external actions to receive this apology. I didn't even respond to this person's letter.

And yet, by saying “I love you,” I somehow healed what was inside me that created it.

Later I participated in a Ho'oponopono workshop taught by Dr. Len. He is now 70 years old he is considered a hereditary shaman, and he lives the life of a recluse. He praised one of my books. He told me that as I improve myself, the vibration of my book will increase and everyone will feel it when they read it. In short, as I improve, my readers will improve too.

“What about books that have already been sold and are in the outside world?” - I asked.

“They are not in the outside world,” he explained, again blowing my mind with his mystical wisdom. "They're still inside you."

In short, there is no outside world.

It would take an entire book to explain this advanced technique in the depth it deserves. It will be enough to say that if you want to improve something in your life, you only need to look in one place: inside yourself.
