Where can you find vampires in Skyrim. Skyrim: Vampires

Skyrim is the fifth part of the famous role-playing computer (or, more correctly, multi-platform) game The Elder Scrolls, which received the title of Game of the Year according to the Video Game Award in 2011. The game's features are simply incredible - it even has vampires!

To begin with, you should know that in this game “vampirism” is a disease. You can become infected with it by falling under the influence of the corresponding spell. This disease does not appear immediately and, moreover, is curable. It is worth adding right away that it is very difficult to recover, but, in any case, such an opportunity is present, which cannot but rejoice.

Quick navigation through the article

Let's become a vampire

To become a vampire in Skyrim, you need to go through several stages:

  • Find and visit the location of vampires - the cave where they live.
  • Provoke a vampire to use a spell that drains life against your character.
  • Wait 72 in-game hours for signs of illness to begin to appear. Complete transformation will occur after three days.

Note:
Any creature except a werewolf can become a vampire, since “lycanthropy” in this game is the same disease as “vampirism”. First you need to be cured of it, and then continue to transform into a night bloodsucker.

Peculiarities

It is worth knowing that the process of becoming a vampire has some peculiarities. If in a vampire cave you encounter an aggressive opponent who has used a spell against you, then the chance of becoming infected with vampirism is only ten percent (if the vampire does not want to attack you, then he should be destroyed).

In addition, during the first three days after infection, you have the opportunity to be healed using magic - by drinking a medicinal potion or visiting a statue of a warrior that can neutralize the effect of a disease-causing spell. The statue is located in Whiterun in the square and cures all diseases.

After infection with vampirism has occurred and the disease has taken root, so to speak, your character takes on the specific appearance inherent in these creatures.

Note:
A newly converted vampire can retain his human appearance for some time. To do this, he needs to drink the blood of exclusively humanoid creatures.

Lifestyle

In addition to appearance, your character’s lifestyle also changes. You will have to feed it with the blood of living creatures. People and elves are ideal, but if they are not available, you can drink the blood of orcs. The more well-fed a vampire is, the weaker he is. In addition, having lost his human appearance, he attracts the attention of living warriors, who immediately attack him. So, in order to survive, a vampire must exercise secrecy and caution.

Note:
The blood of creatures drunk at night is healthier and tastier.

Curing vampirism

After this time, when the disease has already taken hold, it can be cured by becoming a werewolf. Lycanthropy cures all other diseases in the game.

There is another way to recover from vampirism (when simple methods no longer work and more than three days have passed), we do the following:

  • We move to a city called Falkreath, we go into a tavern with a sign "Dead Man's Drink".
  • Talk to the owner of this tavern named Valga, she will tell you about Falion, a mysterious magician who studies the characteristics of vampires and more. You should now have a quest called Rising At Dawn.
  • Next we need to go to the city of Morthal.
  • Falion is somewhere there, having found him we talk about our problem. Please help with it, does he have any medicine?
  • You will need to talk to him a second time, the magician will give you a task: to get the black soul stone. If you already have one, you're in luck. If you have improved your eloquence skills, then you are also in luck (you can buy a soul stone directly from him for a small amount).
  • If you don’t have a black soul stone (or you have one, but it’s empty), you need to trade with this mage and exchange with him a book of spells that teaches you how to catch souls in stones. We exchange and immediately learn a new spell.
  • The easiest way to catch a soul in a stone is to go to Fort Snowhawk - this is the trap of Morthal.
  • On the spot you will find a necromancer. Use the newly learned spell on him and then kill him. This will give a filled soul stone.
  • You can check that everything is ok. If the black soul stone (great) now has the note “filled”, then everything is fine.
  • We return to Falion. Having found it, we say that we have done everything necessary. In response, we receive instructions from the magician - to be present at dawn in the summoning circle.
  • Now we find a circle (these are large stones placed in a circle in the north-west of the city) and wait there until the morning, for example until four o’clock (use the game lighting as a guide - this is the easiest way).
  • There is a small problem that can arise due to the presence of crabs that scurry around near the summoning circle. Just kill them all, otherwise Falion may get scared and run away.
  • After this is done, we see the magician arrive and talk to him. The rest is a matter of technique. At the end of the short ritual, you are no longer a vampire.

Note:
Since vampirism is a curable disease, you can get sick with it many times. No character becomes immune to this disease, and treatment occurs in the standard way.

Vampires are powerful night creatures with specific abilities and interesting gaming features, which every Skyrim fan should definitely try to appreciate its versatility and diversity.

In the Dawnguard expansion, you can fight on both the side of the Dawnguard and on the side of the vampires. Now we will look at the passage of vampires in Skyrim. In order to start completing the main task, you must be at least level 10. There are two ways to start the quest:

1) Talk to any guard;

2) Go to the center of Whiterun, where an orc should approach you and start a dialogue about the war between vampires and the guards of the dawn. Regardless of what you answer, the Dawnguard quest will begin and a marker will appear on the map, which will indicate the entrance to the Dawnguard Ford, where you have to go.

Upon arrival, say that you want to join the Dawnguard, after which the first quest will end and the next one will begin. In the Dawnguard add-on for Skyrim, the passage for vampires begins in the same way as for the guards.

Awakening

Now you have to go to the Dim Cave, located east of Morthal. Upon arrival there, you will have to fight with various evil spirits: vampires, death hounds, draugr and skeletons.

Having dealt with them, pay attention to the marker - it points the way to the button that should open the puzzle. In order to solve it, you need to move the braziers until the magical fire lights up everywhere at the same time (purple stripes are clues).

When you complete the puzzle, a rod will appear in the middle that you need to click on. A vampire named Serana will appear in front of you and now you and she need to go in search of her relatives in order to start in Skyrim
walkthrough for vampires.

On the way to the exit from the cave, you will be attacked by new enemies - gargoyles.

Pedigree

Native Serans live in the northwest of Skyrim. On the river bank you will find a boat with which you must cross to the island where the ancient gloomy castle is located. Entering it, you will find a feast of vampires and a touching meeting between Serana and her father, who have not seen each other for several centuries.

In gratitude for your help, you will be offered the gift of vampirism, and depending on whether you accept it or not, the further passage of Dawnguard will depend. By agreeing to accept Lord Harkon's gift, you can begin playing as vampires in Downguard for Skyrim. If your character was a werewolf, then the bite will cure him of lycanthropy, if he was a vampire, then he will turn into the lord of bloodsuckers.

When you wake up, you can begin to explore your new abilities: turning into a vampire lord, into a flock of bats, into a regenerating cloud, you can hover above the ground, suck life from enemies, resurrect the dead, summon gargoyles, and so on. In the form of a vampire, as well as in the form of a werewolf, you cannot use equipment, ordinary spells and weapons. After learning your new skills, you can go through the main storyline of the add-on as vampires.

The world of the Skyrim game has given players a lot of new opportunities. You can get married, raise children, arrange your home, run a household and, of course, get sick. Today we will talk about a disease that you can “catch” in one of the add-ons to the game.

How to become a vampire

Of course, in order to be cured of vampirism, you first need to become infected with it. This, of course, can be done by “talking” with the vampire. If he uses a certain skill during your battle, you will be infected with the Sanguinare Vampiris disease.

After this, the infection will begin to spread throughout the character’s body. You will be given only 72 hours to get rid of it. After this, the character will become a vampire. Whether this is good or bad is up to you to decide.

Once you become a vampire, a whole tree of vampire skills will open to you. They, of course, can and even need to be pumped up if your plans do not include being in vampire form. You need to know that there are several stages of vampirism, at each of which the attitude of others towards your “person” changes, the appearance changes, and new abilities appear. The player “jumps” from stage to stage every 24 hours, provided that you do not quench the vampire’s thirst for blood.

Until I became a vampire

Undoubtedly, if “becoming a vampire” was not in your plans, then the question of playing is quite normal. Naturally, there are several ways to implement this idea. The first and most seemingly simple one is healing before becoming a vampire using a special altar.

In order to answer the question on Skyrim: “How to cure vampirism in an altar?”, first you need to know what an altar is and where it is located. After infection, you need to hurry up and get to Whiterun.

There is an altar near a tree in the square. By activating it, you will be able to prevent the process of infecting your character with vampirism.

Unfortunately, this method is only relevant if you have not yet experienced the effects of the first stage of becoming a vampire. If your character arrives in Whiterun with red eyes and fangs, you can forget about this healing method. So try to fight more carefully so as not to get infected.

I don't want to be a vampire!

The second way to help answer the question of how to cure vampirism in the game Skyrim is a special quest. But in this case, you need to know that you will exchange one disease for another. A fairly “legal” way to get rid of vampirism is to join the ranks of werewolves.

Once you have reached at least the first stage of becoming a vampire, begin the quest "The Silver Hand". During it, you will have the opportunity to join the ranks of the Companions and become a werewolf. In this case, the character will no longer be a vampire, even if he is infected with lycontropy again. Remember that this method is relevant until the inhabitants of the game begin to rush at you with their fists with strange force. In this case, another method will suit you, which we will talk about now.

Last stage

As we said earlier, vampirism has several stages. Until some time, you can calmly wander around the cities and the world of Skyrim in principle. But, if the thirst for blood is not quenched, then sooner or later (or rather, after 3 days) you will reach the last, 4th stage of the disease. At this moment, the character's appearance will change radically, and all the inhabitants of the fairy-tale world will begin to attack you. This is how cruel Skyrim is. How to cure vampirism at stage 4?

In order to do this, you will need to complete the quest and fork out a fair amount. That's the price you pay for being a vampire. No, this is not a quest for a werewolf - even if you have a great desire to become one, then until you are cured of your previous illness, your idea will face a huge failure. So, what to do if you have become a stage 4 vampire and want to get rid of this disease?

You need to proceed to Falkreath and find the Deadman's Honey tavern. There, talk to the owner about the rumors. She will tell you that one person is studying vampires. After this, the quest "Rising at Dawn" will begin.

We talk with Falion, who studies vampires. You will learn from him that you need a black soul stone. It costs 112 gold. Afterwards, buy a book from the man for catching souls. Now go on a soul hunt at Fort Snowhawk. Find a necromancer there and use the purchased skill. Next, return to Falion and follow his instructions (he will tell you that you need to meet in the forest at dawn). Complete the quest with morning conversation. That's all.

What if I'm lazy?

Of course, you don’t have to do any quests to prevent lycanthropy from affecting your character. The method for the “lazy”, which is in Skyrim, will give its answer. How to cure vampirism? The console will help you. Of course, this will not be as fun and exciting a process as completing quests and playing catch-up with brutal city residents, but no less useful.

So, in order to rid yourself of lycontropy in Skyrim without quests and altars, call the console. Enter there: player.removespell 000B8780. After this, the character will be healed. You can also enter: setstage 000EAFD5 10, but this must be done very carefully, because this command only works once (completes the quest to cure vampirism).

Second try

So, let's assume that you have already done a quest to cure lycontropy and have again become infected with vampirism in Skyrim. How to recover from vampirism a second time? Of course, if you have not yet received the first stage, hurry to the altar. If your character has already become a vampire of at least stage 1, then the console will come to your aid.

Save your game. Don't use quick save. After this, enter in the console: resetquest 000EAFD5, then create a new save. Download it. Now open the console again and enter: setstage 000EAFD5 10. That's all.

So, today we talked about the game "Skyrim", how to recover from vampirism and about who the vampires are in this game. Good luck to your character!

Vampires In Skyrim, people who suffer from an unusual disease are called “Sanguinare Vampriris”. This disease causes physical changes and gives the victim supernatural strength, while making him susceptible to sunlight and fire. There are many vampire NPCs in the game (that is, they have a black soul). There are also Undead Vampires, which can be found using the Detect Undead spell.

Vampires often make lairs in caves or places inaccessible to sunlight. They usually attack a mortal, lying in wait for the moment when he is left alone in a dark place. If you are attacked by a vampire, you may become infected with Sanguinare Vampriris. If you do not recover quickly after infection, you will eventually become a real vampire (then it will be much more difficult to recover).

Details

The vampires in Skyrim are the Volkihar clan, these vampires are very difficult to notice, thanks to their ability to penetrate ice, which was described in the Book of Immortals. They are also described as a scary and paranoid tribe, although any vampires fit this description. The book does not mention that the Volkihar vampires can blend into their surroundings and walk in the sun, like their Cyrodiil kin. They bear some resemblance to the vampires of Cyrodiil's tribe in that they turn invisible and feed. Volkihar vampires usually make their homes in fortresses, but individuals can easily live among mere mortals. Vampires simply love it when mortals serve them, sometimes even raising the dead if they need help. Like all vampires, they can be obtained from Vampire Ashes, which is an important alchemical ingredient. Vampires are hated in Skyrim just as they are in Morrowind and are attacked as soon as they see these creatures. Volkihar vampires have the ability to drain the life from other creatures and heal themselves. The appearance of these vampires is quite creepy; they differ from other vampires in their eyes and unusual face shape. The vampires of the Volkihar tribe are not treated as tolerantly as their relatives from Cyrodiil; if people see a vampire, they are immediately persecuted and killed.

Only the most senior vampires from the Volkihar tribe can survive in society.

Capabilities

NPC vampires have the same abilities that the player would have if they became a vampire. Abilities "Ghost", "Light Bond" and "Ice Block". They can also subjugate people. Vampire slaves, along with their masters, can often be found in vampire dwellings.

List of vampire types

  • Vampire Candidate (Level 1)
  • Vampire (level 6)
  • Blood Vampire (Level 12)
  • Vampire Mystic (level 20)
  • Night Vampire (level 28)
  • Ancient Vampire (level 38)
  • Vampire Volkihar (level 48)

  • Vampire Master Volkihar (level 53) (usually after level 39)

The vampire storyline described here is only available in the Dawnguard add-on.

The storyline for vampires begins in the same way as for the Dawnguard. And to immediately understand exactly how the storylines diverge, here’s a small drawing:

Requirements to start the storyline: level 10 or higher.
Requirements for completing the storyline: the presence of an ancient scroll (obtained from the main passage of Skyrim)

Dawnguard

ID: DLC1VQ01MiscObjective

Talk to any guard, or visit Whiterun, where, after taking a few steps into the city center, the orc Durak will approach you and start a conversation about the war of the Dawnguard against vampires. Whatever you say, after the conversation the Dawnguard task will begin, and the entrance to the Dawnguard Ford will be marked on the map, you can go there:

In the main building we talk with Isran and say that we want to join the guards of the dawn (in general, if you play on the English version, and English is difficult, you can safely press the first dialogue option everywhere).

The task will end after the conversation, and the next one will automatically begin.

Awakening

We go to the Dimhollow Crypt. Where vampires and other evil spirits will be waiting for us:

The first closed grate opens with a lever, which is located opposite, in a small room:

There will also be a second grille, and the lever that opens it will not be nearby, but slightly behind. Eventually, while exploring the crypt you will come to this place:

We kill two vampires and begin to move the stands so that the magical fire ignites in them. After all the racks in the circle light up, activate the rod in the center.

A small surprise will await you, and this is where the task ends.

Completing this quest unlocks the achievement: Awakening

Bloodline

Now you need to take Seran to her ancestral castle. We get out of the crypt (we will have to make our way again through the mountains of corpses of skeletons, draugr and gargoyles), after which we go here:

There will be a boat in the indicated place, we sit down (activate it) in it, and it appears at the Castle Volkihar:

Talking to Lord Harkon:

Important: it is in a conversation with him that there will be a fork between the light and dark sides. We need a dark one, which means we choose:
"I will accept your gift and become a vampire"

After which he turns us into a vampire, and the mini-training will begin:

Important: it is unknown why, but if after training again, with Harkon’e, you turn into a vampire lord, he will begin to attack you.

After training, the task ends and the next one begins automatically.

Hematite Chalice (The Bloodstone Chalice)

ID: DLC1VampireBaseIntro

Without leaving the castle we talk with Garan, who, after a long and incomprehensible conversation, will give us a special cup:

And send it to Redwater Den:

On the spot you will come across a simple ruined house... but not everything is so simple. In his basement there is some kind of torture chamber, and from it there is a passage to another location. In general, feel free to kill all the vampires that will bother you until you get to this place:

Press E (fill the goblet with special blood), kill a couple more vampires, and return to Castle Volkihar, to Garan:

The task is completed.

Prophet

ID: DLC1VQ03Vampire

Talking to Harkon:

After which we go to the College of Winterhold, where we talk with Urag gro-Shub:

And now we need to go to the village of Dragon Bridge:

Where the task cursor disappears. You need to talk to any guard:

After which we go across the bridge, along the road, where we find a broken cart. We select a note from the corpse and read it:

After which we go to the Forebears Holdout dungeon, located nearby:

We kill everyone on our way until we get to this place:

Here you will need to disable the magical barrier. To do this, we select Weystone Focus from the corpse of Malkus and install it on the rack at the top:

An old man, Dexion Evicus, appears, and first we 1) hit him on the head, 2) then use the Vampire Seduction spell (Calm) on him, 3) then bite him (via the E button), 4) then we talk to him:

We go to Castle Volkihar, talk to everyone the marker points to, and the task ends here.

Chasing Echoes

First we talk to Serana:

After which you need to leave the castle, go down the bridge, and turn immediately to the right (without swimming to the mainland), where you will find the entrance to the castle’s dungeons:

There are no special opponents inside, but you will have to run around the labyrinths quite a bit. And of course there will be closed doors with levers (which you will be tortured by until you find):

After painful running around, we find ourselves in this location:

Here you need to collect 3 missing sections, they are located here, you just need to search:

We install them on the required circles, after which the entrance to another location opens:

In the next ruins, Volkihar Ruins, you will have to run around a lot and look for hidden passages do not count on quickly passing this location.

There are three difficult moments with hidden doors, the first two:

You find yourself in a room in which Serana will talk to herself for a bit, then you will need to talk to her (everywhere you can click on the first dialogue option), at the end of the conversation you are given a new task - find the magazine.

It is located on the shelves with books, red:

We talk with Serana again, now you will need to find three ingredients. You need to look in the same room - there are many different ingredients on the shelves and tables. I didn’t choose the ones I needed, I just collected everything that was lying around.

Having collected them all, you need to put them in this bowl on top:

A portal opens to Soul Cairn a beautiful and large location that will have to be trampled on.

As soon as you enter the location, the task ends and a new one begins.

Beyond Death

First you need to get to the marked point where you will meet Serana's mother Valerica:

She gives the following task: kill 3 Keepers. They are located in the same location, but in different parts:

Feature of the location: some glowing bowls that can teleport you to additional locations. One of the keepers will be in just such an additional location.

Having killed all 3, we return to the mother, talk to her, and follow her to the Boneyard.

Where the dragon Durnehviir immediately appears and must be defeated:

After the victory, after talking with Valerica again, follow her and take the Elder Scroll (Blood):

Now we need to return to our vampire castle. On the way back, the dragon you recently defeated will speak to you and teach you new dragon words:

We leave the location, the task is completed.

Seeking Disclosure

Important: in order not to wander through numerous corridors and rooms, in the next location we go straight out through this door, and then through the global map we move to the entrance to the castle:

And we talk with Dexion Evicus:

The task is completed and the next one begins.

Unseen Visions

Important: in this task you will need an ancient scroll (Elder Scroll Dragon), which is obtained according to the main plot of the game (see the task “Beyond the Ordinary”)

Let's go to the beautiful location Ancestor Glade:

Where first you will need to take a scraper, then use it on the tree nearby:

And then, a very interesting task - to collect 7 groups of butterflies in this cave. They are collected by simply approaching them and they themselves begin to fly near you. When you have collected all 7 groups, stand in the indicated place and read the scroll:

Talk to Serana task completed:

Touching the Sky

Get ready for a very long time to complete this task, and an unrealistic number of locations that you will have to visit.

First we go to the Darkfall Cave:

There will be a hanging bridge in it walk over it the first time, it supports you, walk across it the second time it breaks off, and you fall into a stream that begins to quickly carry you away in an unknown direction don’t worry, everything is fine.
