Archpriest Lev Lebedev. Great Russia: Life's Path

6. PATRIARCH NIKON (1652-1658 - ACTUALLY AND UNTIL 1666 - NOMINALLY)

“The greatest man in Russian history” is what Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) called Patriarch Nikon. But even if we try to be more careful, we must admit that St. Nikon is the most great person, the most key personality in the entire history of Russian patriarchate. Domestic and foreign researchers have written as much about him as about any other figure of the Russian Orthodox Church 32 . And yet, the real study of the theological (and cultural) heritage of Patriarch Nikon (and it is huge!) has not even begun yet.

He was born in May 1605 into a peasant family in the village of Veldemanovo, Nizhny Novgorod region. Worldly name - Nikita Minin. He experienced a very difficult childhood with an evil stepmother who tyrannized him and even tried to kill him. Early on he showed an uncontrollable interest in spiritual knowledge. He was a novice of the Zheltovodsk Makarievsky Monastery, where he studied a lot, including architecture and construction. Then, at the insistence of his relatives, he married and became a priest. He spent about 9 years in this rank in Moscow. Three of his children died one by one. Then he and his wife both decided to devote themselves entirely to God. She became a nun at the Alekseevsky Monastery in Moscow, and he went to the White Sea in the Anzersky monastery Solovetsky Monastery, where in 1636 he was tonsured a monk under the name Nikon. Since 1639, Hieromonk Nikon began asceticism at the Kozheezersk monastery on the mainland.

In 1643 he became abbot of this monastery. In 1646, he came to Moscow to collect alms and fell in love with the 16-year-old Tsar for his spirituality, deep asceticism, extensive knowledge, lively, noble disposition, that the Tsar did not let him go back, appointing him archimandrite of the Novo-Spassky Monastery in Moscow. In 1649, the Council of Bishops headed by Patriarch Joseph Nikon ordained Metropolitan of Novgorod. Since July 25, 1652, he has been Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus'.

Not only good relations developed between the Tsar and Nikon, but relations of great cordial friendship. Alexey Mikhailovich perceived him as a father, called him “my friend” and began to title him as a great sovereign, like himself, just as Mikhail Feodorovich once titled his own father, Patriarch Filaret. If then this was determined primarily by blood relationship, now - purely spiritual. And this kinship Tsar and Patriarch - a new, highest level of relations between the Church and the state, the spiritual and temporal principles of Russian life. Nikon considered such relationships to be the only normal ones in an Orthodox state. But upon his election to the patriarchate, he considered it necessary to receive from everyone oath a promise to be obedient to him, the patriarch, in all matters of faith and spiritual life. The Tsar, the boyars, and the people took such an oath. It seems that Alexey Mikhailovich even wrote a special diploma, in which he promised not to interfere, without the consent of the patriarch, in church affairs 33.

The explanation for such an unusual “oath” is that Nikon very deeply saw and felt a serious inner separation in the depths of Russian society, which threatened to split. This was manifested in apostasy (apostasy) from faith and the Church, which emerged in various strata of society and in different directions. Here is a passion for earthly well-being at the expense of the spiritual values of a certain part of the people, and disdain for the Church and its institutions among part of the upper classes, including the court nobility, and a passion in these same circles for Western culture and way of life and thought, and the pliability of the king himself for some anti-canonical state events. The latter was especially revealed in the famous “Code” of 1649, according to which the Monastic Order was established as a purely secular body for managing church estates and affairs, which had jurisdiction over all clergy except the patriarch in civil matters.

Patriarch Nikon, as even his short biography shows, was a man of the deepest Orthodox churchliness. And in this sense, he was an extremely bright, typical representative of Russian Orthodoxy.

The task that he consciously set for himself was, therefore, to hold all Russian society generally in obedience to the Orthodox Church in such a situation when a significant part of society (from bottom to top) became noticeably move away from her. Hence the need for everyone to take an oath to unconditionally obey the Church in the person of its patriarch in all matters of purely spiritual and church life.

“New Jerusalem”, the desire and movement towards it of everyone and everything - that’s what the most important in the life and work of Patriarch Nikon. This The main thing First of all, it was expressed in the creation of a complex of “Moscow Palestine” with a center in the Resurrection Monastery, which received the name - New Jerusalem.

Only from this position is it possible to understand and explain the enormous and very versatile activity of the great hierarch.

From the very beginning of his patriarchate, His Serene Highness Nikon established strict order in worship. Unanimity and “adverbial” singing became the practical norm under him. He himself served slowly, reverently, striving to ensure that church services were as educational as possible, loved to preach sermons and, what is important, - knew how speak them! In those days in the Russian Church he had no equal in speech. He cared a lot about the splendor of the church. In material images, the Church must show people the immaterial beauty of the heavenly world. The Kingdom of Heaven - such was his deep conviction. A strict faster and ascetic in his personal life, who wore the simplest clothes in everyday life, and under them iron chains, Patriarch Nikon used such rich vestments during divine services that none of the Russian patriarchs had. He encouraged church construction in every possible way; he himself was one of the best architects of his time. All his life he never stopped striving for knowledge and learning something. He collected a rich library of books Holy Scripture, liturgical literature, patristic works, books on history, philosophy in Greek and Latin, including the works of Aristotle, Plutarch, Herodotus, Strabo, Demosthenes. Nikon studied Greek, studied medicine, painted icons, mastered the skill of making tiles... Under him, schools of both elementary and higher levels were created both in Moscow and in his monasteries.

But Patriarch Nikon considered the height of the personal life of the clergy and monasticism to be the main foundation of the earthly Church. By very generously encouraging the worthy and severely punishing the dissolute and careless, he achieved a very significant increase in the moral level of clergy and monks and, in connection with this, an increase in their authority and importance in society.

He set an example of mercy towards the poor, unjustly oppressed and impartiality in exposing the vices of the powerful, thereby making many enemies among the boyars. Under the influence of the patriarch in Russia, the system of care for the poor, wretched, and needy people was streamlined, and an active struggle was waged against injustice and corruption in the judiciary 34. At the insistence of the patriarch, the tsar took effective measures to suppress drunkenness and moral debauchery 35.

The struggle continued for the establishment of Orthodoxy and its preservation from all alien influences, carried out, as we have seen, by all previous patriarchs. According to the testimony of Pavel of Aleppo, under Patriarch Nikon, all Muslim mosques, Armenian churches and temples of Western confessions were moved outside Moscow. Foreigners, as before, were strictly forbidden to enter Orthodox churches, especially during services. Russian contacts with them were limited only to the sphere of official business relations; personal communication was not allowed. Any penetration of Western influences into church life was suppressed. The famous public destruction of icons of the “Frankish letter” in the Assumption Cathedral of the Kremlin in 1654 is clear evidence of this.

“The Church is not stone walls, but canons and spiritual shepherds,” said Patriarch Nikon. In other words, in his opinion, as long as the canonical fence of the Church stands indestructible and its shepherds are vigilant to guard the “verbal sheep” of the flock of Christ, hostile forces cannot penetrate it. Until now, His Holiness fully shared the Russian conviction that Catholics and Uniates should be baptized a second time upon their conversion to Orthodoxy. And only under the influence of the weighty arguments of the Patriarch of Antioch Macarius, after long debates and disputes, after church Councils convened twice on this issue, in 1656 he had to admit that such a belief was canonically erroneous, that Catholics and Uniates should not be baptized a second time. In this regard, the famous words were spoken to him: “I am Russian, the son of a Russian, but my faith is Greek” (that is, if the Eastern Catholic Church from time immemorial taught differently than we Russians now think, then we need to abandon our opinions and accept the general opinion of the Eastern Church).

Not everyone shared this opinion at the time. Many “zealots of piety” thought differently. At first, friends - “zealots” put their signatures under the letter of election of Nikon to the primal throne. But, it turns out, because they hoped, in their own words, that Nikon would “have advice with Archpriest Stefan (Vonifatiev) and his beloved advisors" and “will build the peace of the Church, listening diligently Father John (Neronov) verbs" (emphasis added. - Auth.) 36, as, in their opinion, Fr. Stefan Vonifatiev, if he became patriarch. Thus, Archpriests John Neronov, Avvakum, Loggin, Lazar, Daniel, Abbot Theoktist, Deacon Theodore and some others hoped to see the Patriarch of All Russia obedient tool to implement such decisions as them would be accepted... The anti-canonical nature and spiritual incorrectness of such an attitude of priests towards their patriarch is obvious. A firm supporter of canonical and spiritual truth in everything, Nikon could not agree with this state of affairs. Therefore, having become patriarch, he immediately stopped allowing these persons to come to him without special need and consult with them, and thereby incited them against him, so from now on any his order had to be met and was met with hostility. So nothing more than wounded human pride became the initial impulse of the future church schism.

But Patriarch Nikon had another reason for refusing to consult with a certain part of the “zealots of piety.” He joined another part of the same “circle”, which included the tsar, his confessor Stefan Vonifatiev, boyar Rtishchev and others.

This party, in agreement with the idea of Aleksei Mikhailovich to become the future king of the entire Orthodox East, was inclined to the opinion of the need to correct Russian liturgical books and rituals according to the Greek, agreed with eastern authorities, including Patriarch Paisius of Jerusalem, on tripartite sign of the cross, correction of errors in the Creed, etc., and the widespread involvement of Greek scholarship in the work of these corrections. Knowing that the Neronov-Avvakum party holds opposing views. Tsar and Stefan Vonifatievich hid from her his true beliefs 37. Patriarch Nikon alone acted openly, taking the entire blow of the opposition upon himself.

Not immediately, but after many years (since 1646) of reflection, conversations with the king, Fr. Stephen, Greek and Kyiv scientists, Patriarch of Jerusalem Paisius Nikon came to the conviction that correctness criterion corrections of Russian books and rituals are contained in their compliance Besides that from time immemorial, in ancient times was accepted by the Eastern Greek Church, transferred by it to Rus' and, therefore, should be preserved in ancient Russian customs and books, that therefore, in order to correct Russian books and rituals, consultation with modern Eastern authorities is needed, although their opinions must be treated with great caution and criticality. With such convictions, Patriarch Nikon completed started before him the work of correcting church rituals and books, completing it completely by 1656. At the same time, he did not know that book collectors based their work not on the ancients, but on modern Greek books printed in the West, mostly in Venice (although in the most significant cases they also drew on ancient Greek and Slavic texts). The volume of work on collating and publishing books was so great that the patriarch simply could not follow its technical side and was convinced that they were ruling according to ancient texts.

But the correction of rituals was entirely under his supervision and was carried out only in consultation with the conciliar opinion in the Eastern Churches and with special councils of Russian hierarchs and clergy. Instead of two-fingered sign of the cross, the doctrine of which was included in a number of the most important books under Patriarch Joseph under the influence of the Nero-Abakkuk party, three-fingered was adopted, which was more consistent with ancient Russian customs and the primordial practice of the Orthodox East.

A number of other church customs were changed and all liturgical books previously printed with the assistance of “zealots” were republished.

As expected, I. Neronov, Avvakum, Loggin, Lazarus, Daniel and some of their like-minded people rebelled against the corrections of His Holiness. This was the ideological beginning of the church schism, but the schism itself, as a broad movement among the people, began much later, without Nikon and independently of him. Patriarch Nikon took all necessary measures to prevent this from happening. In particular, subject to obedience to the Church, he allowed those who wished to(to I. Neronov) serve according to old books and rites 38, thus allowing for differences of opinion and practice in church matters that do not affect the essence of faith. This gave grounds for the Church historian Metropolitan Macarius (Bulgakov) to rightly assert that “if Nikon had not left the department and his reign had continued, there would have been no schism in the Russian Church” 39 .

It was, however, not only a matter of disagreement regarding the correction of books and rituals. It was a matter of deep differences in perception ideas embedded in the concept of the “third Rome”, in inconsistency Russian church identity of that time.

In 1650, in a debate about faith with the Greeks, Arseny Sukhanov outlined the following system of ideas. The Eastern Church cannot be an unconditional authority for the Russian Church for two main reasons. 1. The only source of faith for everyone is Christ. From Him the apostles and holy fathers passed on the faith to all nations. Among the fathers there were not only Greeks, but “from all over the universe.” The Russians accepted the faith not from the Greeks, but from the Apostle Andrew, who preached in Chersonesos, and then walked along the Dnieper, visiting Kiev and Novgorod. Prince Vladimir was baptized in Chersonesos by those Christians who accepted the faith from the Apostle Andrew, and brought it to the Russian land. And even if the Russians accepted the faith from the Greeks, it would be from those who kept the apostolic and patristic commandments, and not from the present ones. 2. For today's Greeks do not keep many things commanded by the apostles and fathers. For example, they are baptized not in three immersions, but by pouring and sprinkling, they pray together with heretics, which is forbidden by the apostles and fathers, they incorrectly calculate the time from the creation of the world (5508 years, but it should be 5500). Probably, the three-fingered sign of the cross appeared late among the Greeks, but initially there should have been a two-fingered sign, as shown in their icons of the Savior. And now the Greeks do not have “schools of Hellenic teaching,” and their books are printed in Venice, and they go to Rome and Venice to study, and “their didaskals are all from there, trained there in heretical customs.”

Therefore, not a single one of the four Eastern patriarchs, nor all four together in Russia, may not be obeyed if they begin to say anything inconsistent with the apostolic and patristic teaching. Because "y it is possible for you to rule in Moscow without four patriarchs God's law», because ancient device The Eastern Church, when under the pious king the first was the Pope, followed by four patriarchs, corresponds current the structure of the Russian Orthodox Church, where “our sovereign the tsar established a patriarch instead of the pope in the reigning city of Moscow, and instead of four patriarchs - four metropolitans.” According to Arseny, the whole point of the matter is that when there was a “pious king” in Constantinople, then He established so that the first would be the Pope, and “after him” four patriarchs, and Church Councils they gathered “according to his royal permission.” And all these the five main primates of the Church “were in one kingdom under one king.” Then, when the Pope “deviated into heresy,” the Eastern Patriarchs began to live without him (so the Russians can now live without the Eastern Patriarchs). And now the Greeks do not have a pious king at all; they have fallen under the rule of the “busurman”. The Patriarch of Constantinople cannot even walk around the city with religious processions and “ride on a donkey.” Meanwhile, this patriarch at the Second Ecumenical Council was given second place after the Roman one exclusively "for the sake of the reigning city"(that is, the capital position of Constantinople). “Instead, we now have a patriarch in Moscow not only as the second bishop of Rome, but as the first bishop of Rome!” And this is solely because "instead of" ancient Greek king “raised by God in Moscow the pious Tsar, and now we have an Orthodox Tsar one shines with piety throughout the sunflower, and protects the Church of Christ from all heresies.”

In the end, Arseny read to the Greeks the well-known “Tale of the White Cowl,” which speaks of the fall of “old Rome” due to pride, the second Rome - Constantinople from Hagaryan violence, and that in connection with this, grace will shine on the “third Rome - Russian land... ." 40 .

Before us is a fairly detailed presentation of the concept “Moscow (and Russia) - the third Rome”, as it was understood, of course, not only by Arseny, but by many in Russian society.

In this concept, the correct general idea about the spiritual and canonical independence of the Local (Russian) Church in the spirit of the doctrine of catholicity goes into extreme approval self-sufficiency, when it supposedly does not need the existence of other fraternal Churches at all. It is not noticed that the very purpose of Sukhanov’s trip to the East to collect ancient books and manuscripts says that in other cases, without Eastern churches The Russian cannot get by and that not only the Greeks, but also the Russians have such errors and irregularities in rituals and books that need correction according to the ancient traditions of the Orthodox East.

But the main thing here is teaching about the Orthodox kingdom, which is largely associated with the extreme of “self-sufficiency”. The idea of the Orthodox kingdom itself as a condition for the existence of the Orthodox Church deserves special attention and study. For now we will limit ourselves to pointing out that in this most interesting teaching the unity of the Ecumenical Church is placed in direct dependence on the unity of the royal administration of the entire “sunflower” (that is, all Orthodox peoples). This may be desirable, but not required. It seems obligatory to have at least one powerful Orthodox kingdom, in this situation - the Russian one. But the idea that the Orthodoxy of the Church depends on the Orthodoxy of the “pious king” is controversial. Feedback should also be emphasized.

The undoubted truth is that the primacy (seniority, supremacy, “honor”) of the patriarchal throne historically depended on royal power. The Patriarchate of Constantinople became Ecumenical because it was metropolitan in Byzantine empires. If this empire (“the second Rome”) disappeared, and the Russian Empire (“the third Rome”) arose, then the capital, Moscow Patriarchate should now, according to the logic of things, be Ecumenical. This is the main canonical idea of the ideology of the “third Rome”. Although the Russians, to don't ruin relationships(!), eventually agreed to the fifth place in the diptych of patriarchates during the establishment of the patriarchate in Russia, but they themselves for myself continued to consider their patriarchy as the first and most important 41.

In the context All ideas about the dependence of the Church on the kingdom resulted in a “vicious circle”: on the one hand, the Russian Tsar is “pious” because he professes the faith of the Orthodox Church, in which special piety has shone, and on the other hand, the Russian Church can therefore shine with piety and become a patriarchy, which is in the kingdom of the “pious king”...

This the main contradiction of the ideology of the “third Rome”, which had not been noticed until now, but would eventually come to light. The question inevitably had to arise (and did arise): who owns a priority in matters of faith and the Church in Russia - is it the Church itself or the “kingdom”? It transformed into a more specific question: to whom belongs to the Orthodox kingdom primacy and primary responsibility in ecclesiastical and spiritual matters - to the priesthood of the Church in the person of the patriarch or to the worldly “kingdom” in the person of the tsar?

Patriarch Nikon, relying mainly on John Chrysostom, firmly resolved this issue in favor of the Church: in matters church“The priesthood is greater than the kingdom” 42 - he quoted Chrysostom. And he added on his own: “For where the Church has been brought under worldly power, there is no Church, but a house of man and a den of thieves” 43 .

Here Patriarch Nikon found himself completely alone, for both the Greek hierarchy and the Old Believers equally gave priority in solving church affairs to the “pious king.” Apparently, they did not even think that the state in the person of the king, being by nature different from the Church, it may also turn out to be “ungodly” in the sense that it will consciously deviate from Orthodoxy. Nikon knew from the history of Ivan the Terrible’s massacre of Metropolitan Philip and saw in his contemporary reality that this was possible. In the idea of the “third Rome,” His Holiness perceived first of all its ecclesiastical, spiritual content, which was also expressed by the even more ancient idea of “Russian land - New Jerusalem.” This idea was in many ways synonymous with the idea of the “third Rome.” In many ways, but not in all! It placed emphasis on the Christian aspiration of Holy Rus' to the heavenly world.

Calling Rus' to this great goal, Patriarch Nikon consistently creates a number of architectural complexes that contain the idea of the pan-human, universal significance of Holy Rus'. These are the Iversky Valdai and Kiysky Cross Monasteries 44, but especially the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery, deliberately inhabited by Orthodox, but multi-tribal brotherhood (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Germans, Jews, Poles, Greeks).

This monastery, together with the complex of “Moscow Palestine”, was built from 1656 to 1666, then it was completed after the death of the patriarch at the end of the 17th century. As we finally managed to find out relatively recently, this entire complex, which included Jordan, Nazareth, Bethlehem, Capernaum, Rama, Bethany. Tabor, Hermon, Olivet, the Garden of Gethsemane, etc., mainly a monastery, and in it mainly the Resurrection Cathedral, built in the likeness of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem with Golgotha and the Sepulcher of the Savior, is double image - an icon of the historical “promised land” of Palestine and at the same time an icon of the promised land of the Kingdom of Heaven, “New Jerusalem” 45.

Thus, it turned out that the true unity of representatives of all peoples (all-human unity) in Christ on earth and in heaven can only be realized on the basis of Orthodoxy and, moreover, by God’s will, in its Russian expression. This was a clear, almost demonstrative opposition of the unity of humanity in the Church of Christ to its unification in the anti-church of the “great architect of nature” with the goal of Babylonian pandemonium. But at the same time it also turned out that “Palestine near Moscow” with its center in New Jerusalem became the spiritual focus of all world Orthodoxy. While the tsar was still dreaming of becoming the ruler of the East, Patriarch Nikon, as the holy archimandrite of the New Jerusalem, was already becoming the central figure of the Universal Church.

This marked the beginning of the discord between the tsar and the patriarch, between church and state authorities in Russia. Alexey Mikhailovich first internally and then openly opposed Nikon’s plan for the New Jerusalem. He stood on the fact that only his capital Moscow- the image of the heavenly city and the Russian Tsar (and not the patriarch) - the head of the entire Orthodox world 46. Since 1657, quarrels between the tsar and the patriarch begin, in which the tsar reveals a clear desire to take control of church affairs into his own hands, for he considers himself the main person responsible for them 47 .

On July 10, 1658, the Tsar officially made it clear to Patriarch Nikon that he was breaking ties with him personal friendship. And without this, Nikon could not imagine the relationship between the Church and the state. He immediately left the reign and retired to the New Jerusalem Monastery. A long epic of the patriarch's ideological and spiritual struggle against the absolutist claims of the tsar began.

Professor M.V. Zyzykin writes about this: “Nikon’s departure... was a protest against the fact that the tsar had ceased to be Orthodox, breaking his vow and allowing the boyars to seize church government. If he had not left, he would have been an indulger...” “His departure happened. the highest measure of protest immortalized by history, like the struggle of the patriarch with the tsar, like the struggle of the Church with the spirit of this age, like the struggle of the New Jerusalem with Babylon and the Antichrist, like the struggle of patience and love against violence and injustice” 48.

The quarrel between the patriarch and the tsar was immediately taken advantage of by forces hostile to Russia. So not only part of the boyars and some of their clergy, but also many foreigners joined the fight, some on Nikon’s side, others (and they were stronger at that moment) against him. The latter was important to crush the internal spiritual fortress of the country 49 .

The councils of Russian bishops, convened in 1660 and 1665, although they condemned Nikon for “unauthorized” abandonment of the see, did not consider it necessary either to deprive him of the patriarchal rank or to remove his buildings from the monasteries. But such decisions could not suit the king: while Patriarch Nikon was in New Jerusalem, he was the spiritual center of the Church. The tsar brought matters to the convening of a Great Council with the participation of the Eastern patriarchs with the goal of completely deposing the patriarch and sending him into exile.

All this for Nikon was obvious evidence of some apocalyptic phenomena the collapse of something most valuable and important in Rus', which he openly spoke and wrote about with great strength and sorrow 50.

The official version of the court “case” of Patriarch Nikon presented him for subsequent stories as a man of exorbitant pride, who allegedly wanted to subjugate the tsar and the state. But this accusation is decisive removed from the patriarch when getting acquainted with the facts. Being in personal friendship with the tsar, Nikon encouraged and blessed him to go to war with Poland for the liberation of the Orthodox Ukrainian people. At the request of the king, Having gone to war, Nikon really had to conduct some (not all!) government affairs. But as soon as the tsar returned, the patriarch immediately withdrew from all worldly affairs and subsequently even reproached Alexei Mikhailovich for “not working for him like a patriarch,” “like the last slave,” that is, he considered doing state affairs humiliation for his patriarchal dignity 51.

Therefore, it is not the proud claims of Patriarch Nikon to supremacy in the state, but the king's claims to primacy in church affairs - this is the real reason for the Russian misfortune of the 17th century. Collapsed harmony relations between the two heads of a single society, and at the same time the entire way of former Russian life collapsed.

The split between the Church and the state entailed church schism 52. Wanting to win Nikon’s opponents over to his side, the tsar returned Avvakum and his like-minded people from exile, giving them the opportunity to openly preach against ritual corrections. In this sermon they went so far as to fantastically slander Nikon and blaspheme the entire Church. So the king had to send them into captivity again, but it was too late.

The Great Moscow Council of 1666-1667, with the participation of Patriarch Macarius of Antioch and Patriarch Paisius of Alexandria, unjustly and unjustly condemned Nikon to defrocking and exile to the Belozersky monasteries.

The same Council condemned and cursed all who adhere to the old rites, that is, having supported and approved all the corrections made under Nikon, the Council didn't support The most important spiritual line of the saint is to allow service according to both new and old books and rituals.

After long disputes with the Greek clergy, the Russian bishops at the same Council were able to achieve almost the same solution to the question of the relationship between church and royal power that Nikon insisted on: the tsar has power in worldly affairs, and the patriarch has power in church affairs 53 . Alexei Mikhailovich was unable to take the Church into his own hands, and was later even forced to abolish the Monastic Order.

The deposed Patriarch Nikon remained in exile for 15 years. In 1681, already under the new Tsar Theodore Alekseevich, he was released from captivity and had to return to his beloved New Jerusalem. But on the way to Yaroslavl on August 17 (30), His Holiness peacefully departed to the Lord, surrounded by manifestations of the great love of the people and his disciples. His body was brought to the earthly New Jerusalem and buried as a patriarch. At his tomb, many healings and signs of grace-filled help began to take place (especially for mothers and those unjustly persecuted), 54 which indicated that his soul was honored to reside in Heavenly Jerusalem. In September 1682, letters from all four eastern patriarchs were delivered to Moscow, releasing Nikon from all punishments and restoring him to the rank of Patriarch of All Rus'.

The life, deeds, and grace-filled gifts (miracles, foresight) of Patriarch Nikon make it possible to fully share the opinions of such people as Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky), Professor M.V. Zyzykin 55 and many others that this truly great hierarch of the Russian Church is worthy of to be glorified in the assembly God's saints, shone in the Russian land.

MIT EDITORIAL: Former KGB resident in Japan K.G. Preobrazhensky continues his revelations. This publication introduces new circumstances of the activities of the GB among the ROCOR, discovered by the author after the publication of his book “The KGB in the Russian Emigration,” which was published a month ago by the New York publishing house Liberty. The conquest of the Church Abroad by the Chekist Moscow carries a persistent aftertaste of criminality. The KGB killed many of its priests, and the best ones. Some in the Russian emigration knew about this, but preferred to keep quiet. Some - out of false patriotism, others - because they themselves worked for the KGB. So I had to use all my experience as a former Soviet intelligence analyst to reconstruct a rough picture of events by interviewing many people.

At the end of April 1998, in the building of the New York Synod of the ROCOR, its Russian priest from Kursk, Archpriest Lev Lebedev, died a strange death. He was an irreconcilable opponent of union with the Moscow Patriarchate. The First Hierarch of the Church Abroad, Metropolitan Vitaly, invited him to speak before the bishops in order to open their eyes to this disastrous situation. But the eyes of the bishops were already fixed on Moscow. They preferred to soon get rid of Metropolitan Vitaly himself and removed him from office.

Russian priest Lev Lebedev introduced his report to those who arrived at the Council, and was soon found dead in his guest room in the Synod building, before the opening of the Council of Bishops on May 5, 1998. As Metropolitan Vitaly’s former cell attendant, Father Pavel Ivashevich, told me, it was easy for an outsider to enter this room through the balcony door. Many of the young synodal employees often did this when they lost the keys to front door. The KGB probably knew this. Who was the overnight guest of the Kursk archpriest - a militant from the Russian consulate in New York, dressed there as a mass athlete? Or an illegal Russian intelligence officer? The recent murder of Alexander Litvinenko in London shows that the KGB has many methods.

Some of the eyewitnesses of those events believe that Father Lev Lebedev was poisoned on the Aeroflot plane on the way to New York, because he did not feel well after his arrival. Well, this also happens, since Aeroflot remains a branch of the KGB to this day, and they also tried to poison Anna Politkovskaya in 2004 on the plane so that she would not end up in Beslan.

By that time, all power in the Synod of the ROCOR had already been seized by the pro-Moscow group, and it silenced the report. Its text was even considered lost, but we are reproducing the report from a private archive. One can discern God’s providence in this, for the prophetic meaning of the words of Archpriest Lev Lebedev is manifested precisely in our days, when the heretical Moscow Patriarchate began to collapse even before its unification with the Church Abroad. After all, the rebellion of the Chukotka Bishop MP Diomede is just the beginning.

HERE IS THE TEXT OF THE REPORT OF ARCHPRIESTER LEV LEBEDEV:

"To the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. 1998, New York.

1. The period we are going through.
The world, humanity, plunging more and more quickly into the state of Sodom and Gomorrah, are moving uncontrollably towards the completion of the new Tower of Babel - the new world order, i.e. to the Antichrist. Behind him is the Second Glorious Coming of Christ. This is the essence of the moment in time we are experiencing.

2. The position of Orthodoxy.
Against the background of these global phenomena and in connection with them, it looks especially sad that the majority of the once Orthodox local churches, through the ecumenical and interreligious movement, are actively being drawn into global construction and drawing their flock into the Ziggurat (center) of this Babylon. Until now, the only island of God's truth in this world has remained the Russian Church Abroad. Some Old Calendar associations in Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, and individual adherents of Orthodoxy in other countries became small islands of firm standing in the truth.

3. The position of the Moscow "patriarchy".
Lawless (non-canonical) in its origin, the Moscow Patriarchate, by its very NATURE, is a church organization that (since 1927) UNDER THE VIEW of serving Christ, actively SERVES THE ANTICHRIST. Therefore, it is not at all surprising, but quite natural, that the MP is now actively participating in the completion of the construction of Babylon of the new world order, which is precisely and correctly stated in the “Appeal” of the Conference of Russian Bishops of the ROCOR from October 30 to November 12 in Yalta.

Some outbursts of anti-ecumenical sentiment within the MP, as well as protests by some of its ministers against countless other deviations from the truth, are nothing more than weak convulsions of a dying or already dead organism.

All this is explained by the fact that the current Russian-speaking population of the Russian Federation, including its Orthodox believing part, is in a state of TOTAL FAITH of LIES, characteristic of people of the times of the Antichrist and described by the Apostle Paul as GOD’S PUNISHMENT for the fact that they “did not accept love of truth" (2 Thess. 2:10-11).

4. The situation of Russian speakers in Russia.
The entire Russian Orthodox people as a whole (about 80 million Great Russians alone), with Holy Russia at its foundation, was PHYSICALLY DESTROYED in the period from 1917 to 1945, in just 28 years! Thus, the Lord arranged for the Russian people, through the crucifixion on the historical Golgotha, a VICTORY RESURRECTION into the Heavenly Jerusalem of the Kingdom of Heaven, removing this people from the modern historical process. At the same time, from 1917 onwards, a NEW, “Soviet” people, a “new historical community”, as the party and government of the USSR put it in 1977, were artificially grown in the USSR. But in reality, this “new Soviet people” turned out to be not even a people, since there is no sense of unity, but a conglomerate of the RUSSIAN-SPEAKING POPULATION, which crumbled into rubble after 1991. Therefore, EXCEPT FOR A SMALL REMAINDER OF RUSSIANS ABROAD, THE RUSSIAN PEOPLE NO LONGER EXISTS on earth.

5. The state of Russian-speaking believers.
Russian-speaking believers in Russia are characterized by the predominance of earthly interests over spiritual ones, the fraudulent nature of psychology, the belief of lies, “fearfulness, lack of faith and badness” (Rev. 21.8). Witchcraft and witchcraft became extremely widespread. No one is SEEKING Christ and His truth; everyone is looking for “their own.” The most significant phenomenon was that after 1990-1991, in a climate of REAL FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE in Russia, the mass, nationwide conversion of Russian speakers to the Church, to Christ, did NOT HAPPEN.

There has been a slight rise in faith and an influx of young people into the Church, but now these phenomena are on the decline. If we do not exaggerate the data, then at present there are no more than 15-20 million Orthodox believers in the Russian Federation, and half as many regularly go to church. According to the MP, if back in 1993 income from voluntary donations of people accounted for 43% of all income of the “patriarchy”, then in 1997 they amounted to only 6%! The "patriarchy" gets the rest from usury, trade in oil, vodka, tobacco, "Bush legs", other types of "business" and also from very unclear foreign sources.

Sometimes they say that even today there are many kind people in Russia, good people. But there are many of them among both Catholics and Protestants in any Western countries. They also say that in Russia one can still meet, even within the MP, pious people who labor diligently in prayer and fasting. But you need to know that these are not the rays of sunrise, but the last RAYS of SUNSET. In a large garbage dump you can find antiques, icons and even gold objects, but all this is not a palace or a temple, but a garbage dump...

100 years ago, in 1899, Vladyka Anthony (Khrapovitsky), referring to the CLURCHED PART of Russian society of his time, wrote: “This is no longer a people, but a rotting corpse, which takes its rotting for life, but lives on it and in it only moles, worms and filthy insects... for in a living body there would be no satisfaction for their greed, there would be no life for them" (Thalberg, History of the Russian Church. Jordanville, 1959, p. 831). At the end of the last - beginning of the current twentieth century, this rotting part of the Russian population amounted to approximately only 5-6%. Now, at the end of the twentieth century, it is 94-95% in Russia. The entire Russian Federation is a “rotting corpse.”

6. The position of the ROCOR relative to the MP.
It is impossible not to admit that this state of the population in general is fully consistent with the apostasy, heretical and criminal state of the overwhelming majority of the hierarchy of the MP, as one of the “moles” or “worms” greedily devouring in a rotting corpse what can still be grabbed and devoured.

In this case, what could the Russian Church Abroad have in common with the Moscow “patriarchy”? NOTHING! Hence, any “dialogues” or “interviews” with the MP in order to find out what separates us and what unites us is either the height of misunderstanding of the essence of things or a betrayal of the truth of God and the Church. Literally EVERYTHING separates us! And it has NOTHING in common, except perhaps the EXTERNAL appearance of the churches, the vestments of the clergy and the order of services (and even then not in everything!)

Therefore, it is necessary to clearly understand and officially affirm that now ROCOR is not PART Russian Church, but the ONLY legitimate Russian Church IN ALL COMPLETENESS!

It is also necessary to understand that the Moscow “patriarchy” is aware of this. That is why she seeks RECOGNITION of herself as she is (without renouncing apostasy and heresies) by the ROCOR Council. Such “recognition” of the MP by the ROCOR would give the MP the APPEARANCE of complete legitimacy in the eyes of the whole world. But this cannot be allowed.

ROCOR needs to give up dreams and illusions regarding the “rebirth” of Russia. If some extraordinary and unpredictable intervention of God in earthly affairs does not occur, and by His permission and providence everything will go on as it is now, then everything is over with Russia. God willing, just because of excessive attachment to her, you won’t fall into the abyss of destruction with her. Now you just need to firmly “keep what you have.” But if your soul still hurts for the Russian-speaking people in Russia, then only by CONSTANT AND FIRM CONVICTION of the MP, and not by flirting with it, can you save those in Russia who are still looking for salvation and can accept it.

It is therefore necessary to RETURN to the position of IRPROCACILITY towards the MP, which was originally occupied by the Russian Church Abroad.

And it is impossible, under the pretext of “the benefit of the Church” and improving its “paperwork,” to shake the authority of the First Hierarch of the ROCOR, who is capable of distinguishing truth from lies and discerning spirits.

IN Lately ROCOR suffered a series of disasters, one after another. Particularly terrible is the murder of the custodian of the Iveron myrrh-streaming icon, Joseph Muñoz, and the concealment of the icon itself. Let us remember that miracles from her began in 1982. Before this, in 1981, the ROCOR glorified the Russian New Martyrs, led by the Royal Family, as saints, and in 1983 an anathema was proclaimed against the ecumenical heresy. It is clear that the streaming of myrrh from the Iveron Icon was a sign of God’s approval of standing firmly in truth against all lies, including the lies of the MP. But after the very vague decisions of the ROCOR Council of Bishops in 1993-1994 and the further steps of some of our hierarchs towards rapprochement with the MP, such disasters began, one after another, which definitely testify to the retreat of God’s favor towards our Church for its deviation from the truth. How many more troubles do the supporters of fraternization with the criminal and heretical MP want to bring upon our heads?

Well, could KGB agents leave such a conclusion without punishment? Could she allow ROCOR Archpriest Lev Lebedev to continue his hostile activities?

The cause of his death was not determined, although medicine in New York is still better than in Kursk. The body of Father Lev was transported to his homeland with suspicious haste.

(The coffin with the body of Father Lev Lebedev, who died in the USA on April 29, 1998, arrived by plane in Moscow on May 8, the priest was buried in Kursk on May 9. - MIT).

In the photo: The outstanding Orthodox theologian and church historian Archpriest of the ROCOR Lev Lebedev in his office in Kursk. Here the Holy Trinity Community of the Church Abroad (in which today the rector is the eldest son of Father Leo, Priest of the Russian Orthodox Church Vyacheslav Lebedev) held divine services in the 1990s. The photo was taken a few days before Father Lev’s departure for the Council of Bishops in New York, where the priest died suddenly on April 16/29, 1998 at the age of 63.

DEATH OF PRIEST LEV LEBEDEV

Many of the young synodal employees often did this when they lost the keys to the front door.

Archpriest Lev Lebedev was born in 1935 in the city of Kaluga. Graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and Moscow Theological Seminary. Holy Baptism accepted at the age of 27, in 1962, at the height of the “Khrushchev” persecution of Orthodoxy. He worked in the historical museum located on the territory of the New Jerusalem Monastery near Moscow, then served as an altar boy in the parishes of the Krutitsa-Kolomensk diocese.

In 1968 he was ordained to the priesthood, and since 1974 he served in the city of Kursk. In 1990, with his spiritual children, he joined the ROCOR, forming the Holy Trinity Community. Soon, through the efforts of Father Lev, two more ROCOR communities appeared in Kursk, one of which is headed by his son, priest Vyacheslav Lebedev. Since 1994, Father Lev has been a member of the Supreme Council of the Russian Imperial Union-Order, and in 1996 he was elected spiritual mentor of the Black Earth Cossacks association.

The consciousness cannot come to terms with the sad news of the death of Father Leo. Again and again I want to check whether this is a rumor. But the news of the departure of the great theologian and church thinker from us has already spread to almost all of Russia Abroad. In the two days that have passed since the moment of death, there is no longer any doubt about the veracity of this news.

Is it possible to force a mind overwhelmed by grief to express what the newly deceased Father Leo was for our Church, for all of us - Russian Orthodox Christians? Traditional definitions - a great theologian, a talented thinker, a profound church historian, an insightful pastor-spiritual father, a zealot and defender of True Orthodoxy - pale in comparison to the exceptional talent of Father Leo. He became, in the words of the Apostle Paul, “all things to all, in order to save at least some.”

Many of us, children of the True Church in Russia, were brought into its saving bosom by Father Leo. Someone - with his godly works (a special place among them is occupied by the article “Why did I move to the foreign part of the Russian Orthodox Church?”), someone - with his kind heart filled with love, the light of his soul, the gentleness and warmth that Father literally radiated .

How petty and absurd the everyday “accusations” brought against him seemed when you happened to be next to him. Could these reproaches have any meaning when the Spirit of God Himself spoke to us through the mouth of Father Leo?

Father Leo was a rare combination of a powerful and clear mind with kind openness, love and simplicity, exceptional for our time. On the one hand, he is the author of numerous scientific works on theology and history of the Church: “The Baptism of Rus'”, “Patriarch Nikon”, “Patriarchal Moscow”, “Notes on Pastoral Theology”, “Great Russia: Life’s Path”, “Russian Columbus”, “Ecology, or How to Ride a Dragon” and etc. On the other hand, he was a humble and wise shepherd, to whom Christians from all over Russia came for advice, guidance and consolation. Father Leo made no distinction between his guests and his children: he gave all of himself, all his time, experience and knowledge to each. He was completely alien to arrogance, an arrogant attitude towards simple, “unlearned” people, towards “neophytes”, which can so often be seen among “learned theologians”.

Father was an unusually, somehow even supernaturally responsive person. He maintained an extensive correspondence, responding promptly and informally to each of his correspondents. He responded to all the disturbing events in the life of our Church, supporting and encouraging those suffering and persecuted for the Orthodox faith. He vigilantly followed what was happening in the world, giving a wise and deeply Orthodox assessment of everything that was happening in the Church, society and state. It is difficult to find a topic that he did not touch upon in his numerous articles: science, technology, ecology, politics, history, philology, philosophy, medicine... It seemed that Father Leo could answer any question. A person with such an encyclopedic outlook and, at the same time, firmly Orthodox, traditional views is a unique phenomenon for our time.

Excellent orientation in modern world, reacting energetically to everything that happened in him, Father Leo, nevertheless, remained a man of a different era. His image, character, demeanor, speech - everything was reminiscent of shepherds old Russia, which now and abroad, in emigration, can no longer be found. Father Leo lived in Holy Russia and in Holy Rus', his ideal and subject of spiritual aspirations was New Jerusalem, the icon of which on earth was so reverently and patiently created by our pious ancestors. Thought of the father Leo the historian was constantly carried away to the New Jerusalem Resurrection Monastery near Moscow, which became, as it were, the cultural and philosophical result of the era of Holy Russia. He considered the time of Patriarch Nikon, highly revered by Father, to be a turning point in the history of Russia. Having reached its highest spiritual flowering, she left along with Patriarch Nikon to the New Jerusalem, capturing with its unveiled vision in history, turning to which we, people of the late 20th century, can join Holy Russia.

The wisdom and insight of Father Leo attracted many “powers of this world” to him. He constantly participated in scientific conferences and communicated closely with many hierarchs and theologians of the Moscow Patriarchate. After Father Leo joined the ROCOR in 1990, Bishops and clergy of our Church began to often visit him. In the modest house of Father on 2nd Kozhevennaya Street in Kursk, someone was almost always visiting. Often one conversation with Father Leo was enough to resolve the most complex church problems.

The First Hierarch of our Church, His Eminence Metropolitan VITALY, highly valued Father Leo. On the eve of the fateful Council of Bishops for our Church, at which the question will be decided - whether the ROCOR will leave its confessional path for the sake of illusory unity with the apostate Moscow Patriarchate or will remain faithful to its providential historical calling - Bishop VITALY invited Father Leo to the USA to participate in the work of the Council. Vladyka Metropolitan, around whom an insidious conspiracy is being woven, counted heavily on the support of his faithful archpriest. Father Leo immediately hurried to the call of the Bishop and, having served on the Sunday of St. Thomas, April 26, his last Divine Liturgy in the Moscow Church of Saints Royal Martyrs, flew to New York. Here, in the Synodal House, five days before the start of the Council of Bishops, he departed to the Lord.

The sudden and sudden death of Archpriest Lev Lebedev, the cause of which has not yet been established, fell on par with the difficult, tragic trials that befell our Church over the past year. ROCOR lost Archpriest Alexander Zharkov (martyrdom on September 1/14) and brother Joseph Muñoz (martyrdom on October 18/31), enemies of the Church took away the Holy Trinity Monastery in Hebron and burned St. Nicholas Cathedral in Montreal. It seemed that the cup of suffering of the faithful children of the Church and their elder High Hierarch had already been fulfilled. However, literally on the eve of the Council, a new ordeal followed. One involuntarily recalls the image of the Old Testament righteous man, Saint Job the Long-Suffering. Doesn’t everything that happened exceed the measure of sorrow and suffering that a person is capable of suffering? The Lord knows the answer to this question. We understand that all these ominous omens mean: our Church is on the threshold of something terrible and catastrophic. What exactly? The answer to this question can be given by the nearest Council of Bishops.

We will again and again turn to the bright face of the late Archpriest Lev Lebedev, we will again and again learn the Truth from his creations, again and again we will be consoled by the memories of his love. Father Lev’s latest creation was the article “Dialogue of the ROCOR with the MP: for what and how?” This is his spiritual testament to us who remain in the vale of suffering. “Now ROCOR is not a part, but the only legitimate Russian Orthodox Church in its entirety!” Father wrote, “ROCOR naturally preserves and continues everything that was originally contained in Russia by the Orthodox Church before 1917 and even before 1927. Dialogue The ROCOR and the MP have been ongoing since 1927, constantly, without stopping for a single day! And unlike the dialogue of Vladika Mark, this dialogue is real, imbued with genuine love on the part of the ROCOR and does not contain any game of “equality.” In countless books , articles, sermons, letters, the ROCOR called and continues to this day to call on the MP to truly repent before God and its own church people in the sin of the Sergian apostasy (and stop it), in the ecumenical heresy, calls, having been cleansed by such repentance, to join the glorification of the holy New Martyrs and Russian confessors, and only after all this - think about convening a general All-Russian Council of the Church..."

Let us bring our prayerful tribute to Father Leo, let us sing to him the Easter funeral hymn, which, as we unshakably believe, is already echoing in Heaven with the words of Christ the Savior, to whom Father Leo gave himself without reserve: “Come, blessed one of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from centuries!"

Results of the war. Decomposition of "scoops"

(from the book "Great Russia: Life's Path")

How did this happen?

Although the general outcome of the clash between the two anti-Christ regimes - Hitler's and Stalin's - was determined by certain underlying reasons, in direct military battles such random events could and did acquire decisive significance, the non-randomness of which was too obvious! The most important of these occurred in the first and decisive period of the war. Hitler, guided by the idea of "blitzkrieg" (lightning war), viewed the 1941 campaign as decisive; in the end, at the very least, Moscow should have been taken, and in this regard there was no excessive self-confidence. The stampede of the Red Army led to the fact that the Germans actually approached Moscow in the fall of this year. The enormous superiority of German forces in technology and weapons left no one in any doubt about victory near Moscow, and Soviet and German weather forecasters predicted a relatively warm autumn. The German troops were not even given winter uniforms. On November 7, 1941 A parade of German troops was planned in Moscow and invitation cards to Red Square were printed. Stalin was at a loss. Vasilevsky, Zhukov, and other Soviet military leaders did everything that was humanly possible to defend the capital, but there was extremely little strength! In some places it was possible to hold back the onslaught of the Germans at the cost of real heroism and self-sacrifice of soldiers (for example, on the Volokolamsk highway, by the famous Panfilov soldiers). But “miracles” happened in other directions. Thus, on one of the highways in front of Moscow there was not a single significant barrier to the Germans driving along it. They drove and drove, and stopped just before the capital... It was impossible for normal German military leaders to comprehend that the Russians had left Moscow without cover, completely! The Germans decided that there was some kind of “cunning trick” or “trap” here and stopped to unravel the enemy’s insidious plan. But there was no enemy in front of them! So, if they had continued driving, they would have arrived as far as Moscow... But this stop of theirs was enough for the Soviets, having come to their senses, to quickly “close the gap.” And at the end of October in November there were such frosts as had not happened in the Moscow region for a long time at this time of year. Frost reached 25°-30° C or more. And the whole “trick” turned out to be that German technology mainly used ersatz gasoline, which freezes at such temperatures! Basically, only planes that used natural gasoline could fly. All the rest of the huge German equipment stood firmly in this frost. The soldiers, freezing without winter clothes, were practically unable to move... In such conditions, a few fresh formations of Siberians in warm sheepskin coats were enough to inflict a severe defeat on the Germans and drive them away from Moscow to a sufficient distance. "Blitzkrieg" has broken! Without in any way detracting from the significance and human efforts of the Soviet troops and those difficult battles that the half-frozen Germans nevertheless gave to the Soviets near Moscow, at the same time it must be admitted that the decisive factor in their complete defeat here was a simple miracle of God (without quotes)! Many “Soviet” and half-hearted ones, and, of course, all Russian Orthodox, perceived it this way! And some even had signs from the Queen of Heaven, indicating that the Germans would not have victory. Real miracles began to happen everywhere, both in relation to cities, villages, and to individual people and soldiers. In terrible shelling and bombing, when nothing and no one could save us, people began to turn to God and received miraculous deliverances! These were yesterday's atheists, real "scoops", most of them did not know any prayers at all. So one Jewish political worker, in a moment of mortal danger, said in his thoughts: “God, if you exist, deliver me, and I will not swear using Your name!” He received deliverance. He kept his word. But until the end of his days he remained a communist. Another person, a simple Russian peasant, knowing only one, and completely distorted, prayer, “Our Father” (this is all that his mother could teach him in the pre-war village), immediately remembered it under the bombing near Tula and then repeated it throughout the war. Once he saw how Russian artillerymen, under German fire, were dragging a cannon through a forest clearing, which they could not throw without an order. The Germans fired tracer bullets into their backs ("so pretty, little red, little yellow!"..) and it was clearly visible how these bullets, approaching the Soviet soldiers, went around them! This eyewitness later said: “No, we didn’t defeat the German... The German had so many weapons that he could hit one person with a mortar! Where are we!.. God won!” In the 1970s, this man became the warden of a large city cathedral (but still did not know the Lord’s Prayer by heart). What can we say about those women, children, old people who, remaining in the rear, were heartbroken for their sons, fathers, brothers who ended up at the front! Half of them also began to turn to God with a desperate plea to save their loved ones. A massive upsurge of faith began. We have already seen how Stalin used it. People literally poured into the churches that were being opened, both in occupied and now in Soviet territory! Both the rear and surviving front-line soldiers, when they came to them, gave to God, to the Church everything valuable that they had: gold jewelry, other valuables, money... One priest said that in 1944-45. In their city parish they didn’t count money, and after every Sunday or holiday service they handed out just a bag of money to the serving priests. And so it happened that after the war, up to half (no less!) of Soviet people turned out to be believers. But these were, for the most part, not the old Russian believers, but new ones, not churchgoers, but who had sincerely turned to the Church with all their souls! This huge mass of people (tens of millions!) naturally rushed to those few Orthodox churches that were opened. For in fact, the revival of the Church did not occur and was not planned; The Bolsheviks opened only a few, and by no means all, churches that could have been opened in a thoughtful, “dosed” manner. In the entire former Great Russia, only one monastery was opened - the Trinity-Sergius Lavra (before the revolution there were about 1000 of them). Vast areas of Siberia, the Far East, and the North remained without functioning churches. In the largest rear cities (Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Saratov, Samara, etc.) one (rarely two) churches were opened. In rural areas for hundreds, and sometimes thousands of miles, there was not a single functioning church. Most of these turned out to be in the occupied territories, where the Germans and Romanians opened churches. After their retreat, the Bolsheviks did not initially close these churches. Here and in the villages, functioning churches were not uncommon.

But the system, the structure of the Moscow “patriarchy” was practically created anew. A “patriarch” with an office and a Synod was located in Moscow; dioceses with ruling bishops and a network of parishes subordinate to them arose in the regions. All these bishops and all priests became such only with the consent of the MGB (formerly GPU-NKVD). All these bishops and all priests were obliged to support and supported the treacherous line of Metropolitan Sergius (Stragorodsky), professed complete devotion to Soviet power, the Stalinist regime, and even recognition of communist ideology as the most advanced social teaching in the world! No one could become a bishop or rector of a city or large rural parish without first being an unofficial (freelance) employee of the State Security. Only priests in second or third places (not rectors) or in remote rural parishes could be unconnected with the GB. From now on, the Bolsheviks no longer needed to send their communist agents into the Church, wearing robes and posing as monks or priests. From now on the bishops themselves; priests and monks (of those who wanted to become bishops) became completely reliable informants of the “authorities” and obedient guides into church life of any open or secret, unspoken decisions of the party and government. So, for example, one venerable mitred archpriest is still prosperous and surrounded by the veneration of believers, known to all his brethren for the fact that he asked every new young man who started going to church for his last name and place of work, immediately reporting this “to the right place.” . The clergy did not perceive their cooperation with the State Security agencies in the same way. Some (and these are the majority) went for it only out of fear, or for personal gain, or for a career. Others saw this as a way to save good people from persecution by the “authorities” and even influence the “authorities” themselves (and through them the government) in the interests of the Church. It seemed to them that the communist regime would exist for at least another 300 years, and that therefore, in the interests of the Church and the Fatherland (!), it was necessary to accept its rules of the game in order to somehow reconcile the Church and the State, somehow free the consciousness of the desks, leaders from -under demonic influence, inclining them to sympathy, to a good attitude towards the Church and faith. Such churchmen had to repent very bitterly of this deepest error of theirs!

The root of the misconception is that with the devil, with the Antichrist, with the world, or society (system), which are under their direct leadership and inspiration, one cannot enter into any rapprochement, any friendship, or cooperation in the name of the Fatherland, neither in the name of the Church, nor in the name of saving any of the people! Otherwise, the Spirit of God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, as incompatible with the spirit of the devil, leaves a person. He also leaves the entire church community if it takes the path of such friendship, harmony, unity, which we have already talked about. Knowing this very well (unlike many churchmen!), the Bolsheviks recreated under Stalin such a “church” administration, or the structure of the “patriarchy”, which was completely subordinate to them and completely agreed with their spirit and will, therefore completely deprived of the presence of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit God, who creates and gives life to the Church! And what happened? Millions, tens of millions of Soviet believers, sincerely rushing to open churches for Christ, fell into the sticky web of the “patriarchy”, which serves the Antichrist! This was and remains to this day a huge trap for those striving for faith and the Church. It was for this very occasion that the Bolsheviks very shrewdly preserved a pitiful handful of bishops and traitors led by Sergius and a handful of “demonstration” churches before the war!

It was very difficult, if not downright impossible in most cases, for the “Soviet people” who poured into the Church, with their unchurched thinking and lack of proper theological education and canonical legal awareness to unravel the essence of this trap. They either knew nothing at all about the treacherous declaration of Sergius in 1927, or, having learned, due to the general atmosphere of deceit, they regarded it as a “necessary” step in those conditions for the “salvation of the Church”... The “Patriarchy” has constantly represented it even now (!!) presents the matter as if in 1927 Sergius expressed simple loyalty to the Soviet government (which, they say, was what had to be done, because “there is no power unless it is from God,” etc.). And, of course, she never explained and does not explain the terrible essence of the main formula of the declaration: “your joys are our joys, your failures are our failures”...

However, in 1943 and later, in the church environment, among the people there were still very many people who knew the essence of things and remembered what the declaration of 1927 was and the anti-canonical false patriarchy created on its basis at that time. What are they? Some of them never went to the churches of the “patriarchy”, and those who were able joined the catacomb Church, which continued to exist, despite terrible persecution , but in the deep underground. However, the majority of such people succumbed to the illusion of an unexpected “revival of the Church” during the war! And the rise of faith among the people, and the opening of churches, and the establishment of church institutions then gave rise to the hope that maybe this was really a turning point in the policy of Bolshevism, that maybe now the Church was being given real freedom! And then, over time, it would be possible to elect worthy bishops and correct the broken canonical order of church life... They would soon be convinced of the futility of such hopes, of the illusory nature of their hopes. After the war, along the party and administrative lines, believers began to be persecuted so that only pensioners, or people of the lowest level (janitors) who had nothing to lose, could openly go to church. The clergy were required not to agitate for the faith, especially young people, and the clergy obeyed! Some of the “scoops” who turned out to be spiritually sensitive were also convinced of the antichrist essence of the “patriarchy”. And they protested and denounced! The most active ones were imprisoned. First to prison, then, under Khrushchev, to psychiatric hospitals. Others were forced into silence by threats or deception. The “patriarchy” also tried its best, declaring such accusers “violators of church peace and unity.” Gradually, both priests and laity, voluntarily and involuntarily, were instilled with the idea that the main goal of the Church of Christ (!) is “a quiet and serene life.” One might add, “in all pleasure and prosperity”! The idea took hold of the masses. And in the end it turned out that if Christ is fearlessness itself, then the priests and masses of parishioners supposedly serving Him are cowardice itself! If Christ is the “sun of truth,” then the believers who supposedly serve Him, members of the Moscow “patriarchy” are ready for any lie, any meanness, any betrayal, so long as, for example, they don’t close the church! The functioning temple became the self-sufficient center and meaning of the faith and church of the “patriarchy”. Needless to say a lot about the fact that this is not Christianity at all! The “patriarchy” also began to instill in its unfortunate parishioners that they must not break away from it, because the sin of schism cannot be washed away, as St. fathers, and martyr's blood. Truly so! Only this thought had to be attributed specifically to the “patriarchy” itself, which had broken away from Christ and all His truth. And therefore, a schism with the “patriarchy”, a decisive break from it, is a holy matter of returning to God, to Christ, and, therefore, to His Church. But in the eyes of millions of “Soviet” believers, the Moscow “Patriarchy” was the true, primordial Russian Orthodox Church, in any case, the legitimate successor of this Church, just as the USSR was a great power, the legitimate successor of Rus', great Russia. ..

This werewolfism of Stalin and this grandiose deception of his, as we have already said, was actively supported by the “patriarchy” during the war days. This is when, with complete “sincerity”, excitement and natural tears, the “patriarchy” could express its “patriotism” and its boundless loyalty to the people, the authorities, in their heroic struggle against the invaders! And so when, at the end of the war, the “patriarchy” had the opportunity to speak of God’s favor to our Soviet Fatherland and God’s blessing, through the prayers of the Church, of the righteous weapon of the Soviet army!..

But in fact, why did God give victory to the USSR and not Germany? Yes, because over what was still called Russia, but was no longer Russia, according to God’s will, it was not the Germans who should reign, but the Jews. That's the problem. And it’s not at all that God was on the side of the Stalinist regime or loved the Earth desecrated by Bolshevism more than the Earth desecrated by fascism...

The German people themselves were victims of the Second World War, suffering terribly and finding themselves artificially split into two halves for almost half a century! In its second half (GDR), the Russian Bolsheviks established a regime almost similar to their own, which in 45 years managed to “re-educate” the masses of East Germans in such a way that the Westerners, even now, 5 years after reunification, do not know how to find a relationship with them mutual language(although everyone speaks German!). So Germany paid in full for supporting the Bolshevik revolution in Russia during the First World War! The German people also paid for the activities of the Nazi leadership they elected in 1933. Japan also paid for its treachery, which was treacherously attacked by the USSR, and the Americans hit it with two atomic bombs. On the other hand, the “Soviet people”, who warmly approved of the revolution and regicide, paid with their blood and other losses, having received a terrible wound from German Nazism, which came to them under the very sign of the swastika, which was inscribed on the wall of the Tsarina in the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg. Martyr Alexandra Feodorovna (half German by blood, fully Russian by spirit). So not people The Lord Himself repaid everyone literally with blood for blood, as required by the Law of Moses. This is where we should remember those who still consider themselves faithful to this Law, i.e. the Jews. They also paid for all the atrocities of their activists and leaders in Russia and other places with the blood of about 6 million of their fellow tribesmen, most of them innocent! German fascism, which committed this genocide of the Jewish people, everywhere, in Germany, other European countries and in Russia, acted in accordance with the instinct of popular selfishness of the German nation. The Germans, the German patriots, allowed themselves to be drawn into this grandiose provocation. It is important to understand why? Because the German people, as a historical Person, apparently set self-preservation in this earthly existence as their initial goal. Whereas the Russian People had another initial goal - self-preservation for the existence of the Kingdom of Heaven in the New Jerusalem.

This is the fundamental difference between the two blood brothers - the Germans and the Russians, in general - between the West and the East.

It should be attributed to the undoubted honor and glory of the German people that they were able to truly repent, accepting with real humility all the consequences of the 2nd World War! And what? What's the result? It is now the most prosperous people, the most prosperous state in Europe! And what about the winners - the Soviet people? And the winners, who endlessly, obscenely boasted and were proud of the “great victory,” have sunk to such a state that war veterans have medals on their chests! with trembling hands they accepted “humanitarian aid”, including food from the vanquished, from the Germans in 1990. Many old front-line soldiers cried, and there is something to cry about! No, this war was neither “patriotic” nor “sacred”. She was a real disaster, a tragedy for both the vanquished and the victors.

And who was the winner in the end of the war? That is, who turned out to be the real and not the imaginary winner? Jews! More precisely, their overt and secret leaders and leaders. Using all means of information, propaganda and bribery, having horrified world “public opinion” with unheard-of fascist atrocities against the Jewish people, these visible and invisible leaders were now able to gain Palestine, creating the Israeli state there after two thousand years of “break”, and achieve commanding positions in the world political and economic systems, and completely crush the two most important obstacles on your path to undivided world domination - the spiritual strength of the Russian and German peoples!

At the same time, as already mentioned, the Russian People were completely destroyed physically, that is, they completed their historical Golgotha, leaving the earthly realm of existence completely. A certain number of its representatives, that is, truly Orthodox Russian people, remained for some time. But it was already so insignificant that it could not become the basis for the revival of the people, and it could be neglected.

Instead of the Russian People, a new, different people began to live on the territory of Russia, speaking the Russian language, although it was steadily distorted, so that now only 16-17% of Russian words are preserved in the business language, and as if descended from the Russian People by blood, but in spirit , in terms of worldview and worldview, no longer has anything in common with the Russian.

According to Soviet statistics, in 1950-1970 there were up to 20 million (sometimes written 15) Orthodox believers in the USSR. The data is underestimated and approximate. They are based on information from the field about the approximate number of people visiting temples. But, as we have seen, soon after the war, when the wave of general rejoicing and “reconciliation” subsided, only people, mostly of retirement age and status, could go to churches. Many others became “believers at heart,” because otherwise they could have lost their jobs, their studies, and their career prospects. There were several times more such “hiding” Orthodox Christians than those who could afford to go to church openly. Therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to say that up to half of Soviet Russians became Orthodox believers.

The main thing for us now is to take a good look at what kind of faith this is?

As we see, those “hiding” hid in their faith from the eyes of their superiors because they wanted to live in this world in accordance with their earthly inclinations, abilities, dreams, that is, to engage in the work, or science, or art that someone was capable of. In other words, feeling God, bowing before Him, they did not consider God’s commandments, God’s truth, their very love for God to be the main thing in life, for which they can and should lay down their soul and head! They considered it sufficient to “have God in the soul” so as to try “not to do evil to others,” as they most often said. Let us ask ourselves: is this the faith with which we have become generally familiar throughout history? If this is a faith, then it is clearly not Russian! not the Orthodox Faith of the Orthodox Russian People, by which they were created as a People and lived day after day since the 12th century. to the beginning of the 20th century! Let us therefore abandon the faith of those “in hiding.”

Let's see what happened to the faith of those who, without fear, went and went to Orthodox churches throughout Soviet times?

All of them came under the watchful supervision of the Bolshevik and “patriarchal” authorities. Their interaction worked like this. The Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR (this “KGB eatery”, as it was called) had a commissioner in each region who was in charge of all church issues. In each urban and rural district, these issues were in charge of the second secretaries of the district executive committees, and in all these matters they were subordinate not to their first secretaries, but to the regional commissioner. He “rotated” between the local party authorities (Obkom), the local KGB and his “Affairs Council” in Moscow. The “Council on Affairs”, in turn, depended on two authorities: the Central Committee of the CPSU and the KGB. The Moscow "patriarchate" in all matters was directly subordinate to the "Council for Affairs", its bishops locally, in dioceses - to the regional commissioner. The priests in the parishes were formally subordinate to the diocesan bishop, but in all practical matters they were quite dependent on the authorized representatives and second secretaries of the district executive committees. No one could build a shed or paint the roof of the temple without permission from the local authorities or an authorized representative. Since 1961, all financial and economic activities of the parishes were removed from the jurisdiction of the priests and transferred entirely into the hands of the so-called church “twenties”, from the parishioners, headed by the headman, his assistant and the treasurer (accountant), practically appointed by the district executive committees and often of complete atheists. Figuratively speaking, not a single mouse could do this without the knowledge of the owls. power neither to slip into the temple nor to slip out of it. Everything about all parishioners was reported to the local authorities. No one new person he could not remain in the parish without his appearance being reported “to the proper place.” All church money, “old woman’s rubles” went... to the godless state! The parishes were left with only what was needed for the salaries (!) of clergy and other full-time church workers, for the purchase of “church goods” (candles, crosses, etc. ), as well as in exceptional cases and with special permission for the repair of the temple or the purchase of new vestments, vessels, etc. The rest of the money (more than half of the income) the parishes, i.e. their elders with treasurers, were obliged to hand over to the bank, from where they were never returned to the Church (a certain amount could be withdrawn from the account only with the permission of the authorized person and only in emergency cases!) In addition, 25%, and in other cases more, of the income was voluntarily and compulsorily given to the Peace Defense Fund , which basically existed on this money. With them, with “old woman’s rubles,” countless delegations of “friends” from developing countries were fed black caviar and given cognac to drink... Other levies, one-time and regular, were also taken from the Church. All issues of the “personnel” of the Church, the appointment and transfer of bishops and priests, were resolved only together with the “Council for Affairs”, its authorized representatives, often directly with the KGB, often directly at the request of these authorities. It is clear that with such a system of imaginary “separation of Church and State” to all key places and posts, bishops, rectors of urban and large rural parishes, the “patriarchy” appointed people not on the basis of their spirituality, honesty, or other good qualities, but solely on the basis of their agreeability to the authorities and ability to be friends with the authorities! So in all the key, most prominent, responsible places and parishes of the “patriarchy” there were the worst representatives of the Soviet clergy (already not formed from the best Orthodox people!). The most vile traitors, informers, money-lovers, power-hungers, hardened swindlers and scoundrels have become the head of the church life of Soviet Russia! Among them (especially among the monastics) for some reason homosexuality became very widespread. Nowadays the monastery is very often a hotbed of sodomy, which is talked about so much that one is tired of listening. But there is no church court in the “patriarchy”. And who would be the judges if almost every third bishop of the “patriarchy” is guilty of the same sin. And bishops who have secret wives and bishops who are fornicators are the talk of the town! Nothing like this has ever happened in Russian history, nothing It is impossible to imagine such a thing in relation to the Russian episcopate that lived before 1927 and (in prisons and exiles) even until 1937 and to what now exists in the Russian Church Abroad! Before us is a certain special corruption of the episcopate and monasticism, characteristic exclusively only of the Moscow “patriarchy.” But as a rule, it is these corrupted ones who are the most active business executives, administrators, restorers of churches, organizers of church schools and other endeavors!

Of course, not everyone was susceptible to this corruption, and, of course, the “system”, in its vigilant care for church personnel, often made mistakes and blunders. So sometimes quite pious, decent people ended up in key positions. But most of these were (and are) among the second, third, fourth priests of large parishes and priests of remote villages and hamlets. There are those who sincerely try to strive for asceticism among Soviet monks. In relation to all such “patriarchy” and Sov. The authorities have always been extremely wary: you can’t expect anything from such (pious) people! God forbid, they may come out in defense of the trampled Church and the truth of God! But there were very few speakers, only a few! They were taxed, driven from parish to parish, banned from serving as “troublemakers” and called “fanatics”, unanimously by both bishops and commissioners... Basically, the decent ones were silent. And they were tolerated. True with difficulty, still trying to get rid of it somehow. The very phenomenon of decency was unbearable both for the Bolsheviks and for the highest hierarchs of the “patriarchy”... And, of course, it was not the decent who determined the life and atmosphere of the Church, but the corrupted or “hot” friends and co-workers of the Bolshevik regime.

It was under such “spiritual” leadership that many millions of new Soviet believers found themselves. What could they have absorbed from their leaders? It is beautiful to say one thing, but to live differently, to be touched by the suffering of the celebrated martyrs and, more than anything else, to be afraid of suffering in any way; glorify Christ and at the same time glorify the Antichrist Soviet power!.. What is this? This is “church” schizophrenia (split of consciousness)! It has constantly led and is leading, especially at the present time, many in the “patriarchy” to such a disorder of consciousness and psyche that is clearly subject to medical competence. A common expression has begun to be passed down like an anecdote, which in fact is often repeated among the “common people” and should become a historical monument: about a good bishop or priest they say: “Our bishop (or priest) is good, a believer!”.. .

Stalin died in 1953. The grief of the Soviet people was indescribable! Of course, not all of them. Many were happy in their hearts. But on the whole, without any exaggeration, “for the “Soviet people” who did not know the “Zone”, it was precisely universal, sincere grief. Both the “patriarchy” and the day of Stalin’s funeral on March 9, 1953 added their excited, reverent voice to it. before the memorial service (which, according to the canons, cannot be served for a person who died in conscious denial of God) in the Epiphany (Elokhovsky) Cathedral in Moscow, “patriarch” Alexy (Simansky) made a speech in which he said “The great, moral (!?), social power has been abolished ; the strength in which our people felt their own strength... with which they consoled themselves (!) for many years." Not to mention the fact that this is plagiarism, for it was almost copied from Aksakov’s speech on the death of Metropolitan Philaret (Drozdov), this also an example of unparalleled deceit (Alexiy, more than many others, knew about Stalin’s terrible atrocities against both the people and the Church, and he himself feared them above all!) And yet he said: “...His glorious deeds will live on for centuries. ..And to our beloved Joseph Vissarionovich we prayerfully proclaim eternal memory with deep ardent love." If this is compared with the laconic formal condolences to the Government on the death of its Chairman Lenin, which was made by Patriarch Tikhon, then the difference between servile service to the Bolshevik regime and simple loyalty to the civil authority.

Further more. In the early 1960s, N.S. Khrushchev, who exposed Stalin’s “cult of personality” (a democrat!) launched new persecutions against the Church. 10 thousand churches and several monasteries were closed again (in Ukraine, including Kiev-Pechersk Lavra), several theological seminaries. Believers who tried to defend their churches were tolled, arrested by the police, threatened with prison, active priests were deprived of their services, ancient churches and cathedrals were blown up and destroyed. True, now they were no longer shot for their faith and were not sent en masse to death camps, but they came up with a new idea - to put the most active and talkative believers and priests in mental hospitals as abnormal - schizophrenics (most often this was the “diagnosis” given in these cases by Soviet medicine). Atheist agitation and propaganda are in full swing! And the “patriarch” and the episcopate of the “patriarchy” continued, as if nothing had happened, to “ardently support and approve” the activities of the party and government! There was only one bishop, Hermogenes of Kaluga, who opposed the closure of churches in his diocese and then even tried to organize bishops to protest against the anti-canonical innovations of 1961, when all power in the parishes was taken away from the “priests” and transferred to the “twenties.” The bold bishop was fired “on peace" to the Zhirovitsky Monastery, under the strict supervision of the KGB. Khrushchev in 1965, overthrown by his own comrades, flew from the pinnacle of power like none of the most important Bolsheviks had ever flown... Under the new “leader” L.I. Under Brezhnev, churches were no longer closed, but moral and administrative persecution of believers continued in full, as under Khrushchev. At this time, in 1965, an extensive “letter” from priests Nikolai Ashliman and Gleb Yakunin to the “patriarch” and the government appeared, where they gave many examples of obvious lawlessness of the authorities in relation to the Church and the complete inactivity of the “patriarchy”, which did nothing to protect the Church and the believing people. These priests were banned from serving for violating the “peace of the Church”... By direct unspoken orders “from above”, even under Khrushchev, Komsomol hooliganism began in churches and continued after him until the end of the 1960s, mainly on Easter. Crowds of young people squeezed into the middle of the believers and during the service began to rock the dense mass of people so that the old women fell, crushing each other, screaming in pain. Processions of the Cross They walked around the temples amid frenzied obscene language. From the crowd that closely squeezed these passages, they threatened to stick burning cigarettes in the faces of the priests, and, trying to drown out the church singing, they shouted whatever they wanted (in particular, to the priests, “you are communists!”). In the 1970s, these hooliganism, on cue, stopped. But at meetings in groups, they worked on people who were noticed to have baptized their children, or to have funeral services for their father or mother in church. Such “renegades of a healthy Soviet society” could be deprived of bonuses, a queue for an apartment, or fired from work (the biggest punishment). So openly believers were destined for a moral and administrative ghetto, where they could only count on the most irresponsible (“menial”) work; their children could not be admitted to universities, and in schools they were subjected to bullying and ordeals by teachers. With rare exceptions, all the priests of the “patriarchy” blessed their children to join the Komsomol, the party, renouncing the faith, and secretly believing, and at home they gave communion and married these children. All this, as it began in the 1960s, continued in the early 1980s (20 years!) The fear of power among the priests was such that it, the civil power, was feared and revered immeasurably more than God, than His Judgment! It was precisely this fear that was transmitted to the masses, to the parishioners. And they sincerely began to fear the authorities more than God, to believe that there is no sin more terrible than resistance to authority! In such a monstrous situation, in 1967, a special “Message of the Holy Patriarch and the Holy Synod in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution” was issued. It said: “Having renewed the very essence of the life of our people, the October Revolution was at the same time a stimulus for the national liberation movement (i.e., bloody, godless revolutions in other countries and peoples - Prot. L), and we, together with all our compatriots, We feel deep satisfaction that all (!) of these undertakings, consonant with the evangelical ideals (!), are finding increasing understanding and support these days from wide circles of believers in many countries of the world. The “Patriarchy" was clearly trying to ensure its legal existence in the future world communist super-society or state, if it does take place. Further, the “Message” spoke of the “deep internal unity” of the Soviet people, “despite the difference in worldview between believers and non-believers,” who still see each other as “brothers.” , it was recalled that this was the good fruit of Sergius’s declaration of 1927. , an example of which is the “nationwide feat in the Great Patriotic War,” as well as the current “steady development of our Fatherland (with a capital letter!) in economics, science and culture” (this is precisely at a time when the economy was actually rapidly degrading and culture). In conclusion, there was “thanks to God for all the blessings that have been upon us,” which meant all the fruits and consequences of the Great October Revolution... Approximately the same thing was later written in the anniversary messages of “Patriarch” Pimen in 1977 and 1987. In general There was not a single significant internal or international act of the party and government that the “patriarchy” did not support “with a feeling of deep satisfaction”! It was jokingly called the “sixth sense” of the Soviet man. Both “patriarch” Pimen and “patriarch” Alexy were appointed by the Central Committee of the CPSU and the KGB, and then “elected” by organized Councils in the same way as Sergius and Alexy II.

What could remain of the faith of those believers who constantly went to churches, that is, they were a multi-million flock, parishioners of the “patriarchy”? Only some commandments of a moral nature, and also the spiritual consolation that they received in churches from touching singing, orderly worship, communication with icons and shrines, as well as the hope of receiving healing from illnesses and deliverance from troubles. In rare cases, faith turned out to be an obsession with a religious idea, like obsession with a communist idea. It seems that this is already the limit of apostasy and fall. But no! The abyss is called that because it has no limit (bottom) and there will always be another step, or depth, to which one can descend. This is what happened with the “patriarchy”. Having always loudly boasted of the unshakable preservation of the Orthodox doctrine, canons and traditions of the Church, the “patriarchy” retreated from all this as soon as it was beckoned.

Since the beginning of the 1960s, almost simultaneously, two heretical teachings of the “patriarchy” began to develop, the theology of revolution and ecumenical teaching. Both of them are connected with the personality of Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of Leningrad and Ladoga, who then rose to prominence and gained great power in the church leadership. He himself and a group of like-minded “theologians” took up the “Orthodox” justification of the October Revolution and others like it, as “corresponding to Gospel ideals” and in tune with the teachings of Christ the Savior. We agreed to the point of affirming that Christ on the Cross supposedly took to Himself not only those who believed Him, but all of humanity. Consequently, the Body of Christ, the Church, is all people, regardless of their relationship to Christ, and therefore it turns out that “unbelieving brothers” (i.e., atheists and Satanist-communists) can and do do the work of God - the work of building the Kingdom of God on earth, which is “communism,” and believers, ossified in their prejudices, even often oppose this God’s work! Therefore, the Church is in many ways conservative, does not correspond to the “spirit of the times” and needs to be “renewed”. The Nicodemusites never quoted the clear words of Christ: “I do not pray for the whole world, but for those whom You (Heavenly Father - Archpriest L.) have given Me” (John 17:9), that is, only for believers! Gradually, the “Nicodemusites” began to avoid mentioning the devil and demons, Nicodemus himself, instead of the word “sins,” began to use the elegant “our imperfections,” and, finally, he raised the issue head-on before the Pan-Orthodox Conference on Fr. Rhodes, which was, in essence, preparing a new Ecumenical 8th Council, called, however, cautiously “Pan-Orthodox”, that it was time to recognize Freemasonry as one of the religions (so that ecumenical communication could be established with it)! In all their activities, Nikodim and his company had strong support from the KGB, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the “Council for Affairs”. Moscow seminarians added to his title: “Leningrad, Ladoga and Lubyansky”. And in 1974, students of the Leningrad Theological Academy pinned a notice on the door of his office: “The Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the State Security Committee under the same Council, the Masonic Lodge of Arbatov, the Choral Synagogue of Konotop and other interested organizations with with deep sorrow they announce the untimely death of Metropolitan... Nicodemus. Some regret befits this sad event. Death has snatched from our ranks one of the most staunch fighters against Orthodoxy!.." Church-wide recognition of atheists as members of the Body of Christ did not happen, although this obvious heresy is still has not yet been condemned by the “patriarchy”.

The Masons, apparently, were themselves embarrassed by the open invitation to the ecumenical movement, which was both hidden and created by them! There was no new “renovationism” in liturgical practice either, although it was the poison of “renovationism,” modernism and all kinds of ecclesiastical free-thinking that turned out to poison a lot in the “patriarchy,” especially in young minds and especially in Leningrad. The “theological” justification of revolution and communism became a solid new teaching of the “patriarchy”. It is clear that this teaching is also completely heretical. But the most disgusting and destructive thing was the entry of the “patriarchy” into the so-called “ecumenical movement”, led by the Protestant World Council of Churches (WCC). Ecumenism from the Greek word most often meaning the inhabited universe, i.e. something addressed to all people. The essence of ecumenism is that the coming Antichrist must be given control of the spiritual (church) life of humanity, which is impossible or very difficult with many religions and many different, warring and non-communicating confessions in Christianity alone. Hence, according to the plan of Judeo-Masonry, Christianity (and after it all others) needs to be united. For this purpose, the idea was created that the Church of Christ, in essence, is one, but split into many confessions (confessions) only because of sin and the machinations of the devil. Therefore, now, in our “advanced” age of all kinds of international integration (unification) and Christian churches , each preserving its own teaching and traditions, must gradually unite on the basis of Christian “love”, right up to communication, first in prayer, and then even in Communion. The WCC proposed the basis for unification: 1) faith in Christ as the Son of God who came in the flesh, and 2) faith in the Holy Trinity. In 1948, at its local Council, the “patriarchy” called this ecumenical teaching an attempt to build a new Tower of Babel and “incompatible with Orthodoxy” (true!). But in the early 1960s, in connection with Khrushchev’s new policy of “détente of international tension” and “peaceful coexistence,” the CPSU Central Committee considered it useful for the “patriarchy” to take part in the peacemaking movement and in the WCC, and all its work, the “patriarchy” responded : “I obey!”, especially since an excellent “outlet” opened up for its hierarchs to travel abroad, to be held in even greater esteem by the local authorities, and what is there a sea of pleasures!.. Orthodox theology has long ago and thoroughly exposed the ecumenical teaching as an obvious heresy (and even, according to the true words of the current First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Vitaly, as a “heresy of heresies”). The fact is that the Church is the Body of Christ, of which He Himself is the Head, as we have spoken about more than once. The Serbian theologian Archimandrite Justin Popovich wrote on this occasion that Christ “cannot have several bodies, and hence the division of the Church - this phenomenon is essentially impossible and it never happened, but there were (and will still be!) apostasies from the Church.” The Church is one and one, as stated in the Creed. And not only purely “spiritually”, but also externally, just as Christ was not only spirit, but also flesh, and this external unity is in the unity of the entire doctrinal, canonical and liturgical system, as well as the image of the church organization! There were deviations from this unity in ancient times and have persisted to this day. They are known: Catholicism, Monophysitism, Protestantism with its branches and countless sects. All of them are heresies, heretical communities, because in one way or another they distort or deny those dogmas (truths) of faith that were adopted at the Seven Holy Ecumenical Councils of the ancient Church. For example, Protestants (and their sect, like Baptistism) do not recognize the sacraments, except Baptism, do not properly venerate the Mother of God, do not recognize saints at all, do not venerate icons and reject the authority of patristic writings, which means they fall under the anathema of several Councils, including The Seventh Ecumenical Council, which approved both the veneration of icons and the sacred, unshakable character of all truths and canons adopted at previous Councils, anathematizing all those whom they excommunicated from the Church. The “Patriarchy” pretended not to notice, entering into the ecumenical movement on the indicated foundations of the WCC, that it thereby openly admitted that for it, the “Patriarchy”, the sacraments of the Church, the veneration of the Mother of God, saints, icons, canons and holy fathers are not as fundamental and essential in faith and teaching as the doctrine of Christ and the Trinity, and something secondary that can be neglected for the sake of a “dialogue of love” with heretics and common prayers with them. Thus, the “patriarchy” found itself under the anathema of the Ecumenical Councils of the Church (especially the Seventh). The official (and, as usual, false) reason for joining the ecumenical movement was for the “patriarchy” the idea of preaching Orthodoxy to non-Orthodox people. But in fact, by refusing to declare that only the Orthodox Church is the only true one, and by recognizing all heretical “churches” as also true (but to a lesser extent), the “patriarchy” betrayed Orthodoxy and “confirmed the heretics in their destructive errors for the inevitable the death of these people,” as St. Maximus the Confessor, noting that with a friendly attitude “towards people – heretics, in matters of faith (!) one must be harsh and irreconcilable”...

Moreover, having entered into prayerful communication with heretics - Protestants, Catholics, Baptists, Adventists (and even at a number of meetings of the WCC - with Judaists, Indian shamans, Buddhist lamas and occultists of a definitely demonological (i.e. satanic spirit and persuasion), "patriarchs ", the bishops and priests of the "patriarchy" fell under defrocking. For a whole series of canonical rules very definitely subject to defrocking any bishop, priest or deacon who will pray with heretics. Knowing this, the ideologists of the "patriarchy" are now trying to prove that the canons not sanctified rules, but only purely human ones, established at a certain historical time in connection with the circumstances of that time, and therefore can be violated as much as necessary, at the discretion of the highest church authority. But such theories only emphasize and prove that the “patriarchy” has ceased to be the Orthodox Church , becoming a heretical community, like those with whom she entered into prayerful communication of “love.” Not an accidental word in ecumenism! Joint prayer with heretics cut off from the Church is nothing more than spiritual adultery (copulation with the spirit), breaking the spiritual “marriage” with Christ, with His true Church, according to the word of the Gospel. That is why our ancient fathers and teachers of the Church, who had much more real love for people than the careerists of the “patriarchy,” so strictly forbade prayers with heretics.

This break with Orthodoxy was brilliantly completed by the Moscow “patriarch” Alexy II (Ridiger). In 1991, having arrived in New York, he decided to speak to the Jewish rabbis of the United States and on November 13 made a speech, which he began with the words: “Dear brothers (!) Sholom to you!” Further, distorting the entire teaching of the Church on the attitude towards Jews who stubbornly do not believe in Christ, calling Russian denouncers of modern Judaism as a religion “reactionaries,” Alexy II argued that modern Israel still (despite the rejection of Christ!!) “God’s chosen people,” and the religion of Talmudic Judaism is quite related to Christianity: “The unity of Judaism and Christianity has a real basis of natural (?) and spiritual kinship and positive (?) church interests.” At the same time, Alexy II demonstrated the following verbal acrobatics: “We are united with the Jews, without renouncing Christianity, not in spite of Christianity, but in the name and power of Christianity, and the Jews are united with us not in spite of Judaism, but in the name and power of true Judaism "We are separated from the Jews because we are not yet fully Christians (?!), and the Jews are separated from us because they are not yet fully Jews. For the fullness of Christianity also embraces Judaism, and the fullness of Judaism is Christianity." .

Let us recall once again what we have already quoted in our place from the Gospel about the conversation of Christ with the Jews who stubbornly did not believe in Him. To their statements that their father was Abraham and even God, Christ replied: “Your father is the devil, and you want to fulfill the lusts of your father” (John 8:44). And in “Revelation” the Lord tells John the Theologian about such Jews that “they say about themselves that they are Jews, but they are not, but the synagogue of Satan” (Rev. 2:9).

So, if it was precisely these Jews (who stubbornly reject Christ to this day) that the “patriarch” of Moscow called “brothers,” then who did he make his “father”?

What is this?! This is “an abomination of desolation placed in a holy place,” that is, on the site of the once true Moscow Patriarchate, on the Throne of the once real Moscow Patriarchs!

First, the Sergian false patriarchy fraternized spiritually with the communists (with the Soviet government, “your joys our joys”), then with all the heretics, now it fraternizes directly with those who initially organized the “Christian” heresies, and “communism,” and the Soviet government with the Jews who inspired the murder of Sovereign Alexander II, who committed the murder of Nicholas II and His Family and the entire Russian People! Here there is some change in the owners of the “patriarchy”, and it is understandable why, for now it is already clear to everyone that power over the world is passing into Jewish hands... But this is a renunciation not only of all truth of God, but also of Russia, of its crucified people, from their history and Soul!

Thus, having spiritually fraternized with the Jewish synagogue, the Moscow “patriarchy” itself became a “heretic synagogue,” as the holy canons sometimes express it, dragging its multi-million flock directly and openly into the new Babylon of world unification (integration), at the top of which the emergence of a “great the Jewish king" or the Israeli "Messiah", the number of whose name is six hundred and sixty-six, that is, the Antichrist (which we will talk about separately). But, since the “patriarchy” insists on being called, in spite of everything, the “Russian Orthodox Church,” we must once again state that before us is a Werewolf Church, a Changeling Church.

But perhaps, as some think, all this has to do only personally with those highest hierarchs of the “patriarchy” who are guilty of the heresy of ecumenism, and does not affect the other clergy (where there are many who disagree with this heresy) and does not affect the faith of the millions of Soviet masses parishioners? Unfortunately no. Church society is always a kind of integral organism, connected both externally by a management system and spiritually and sacramentally, through the statutory commemoration of the name of its primate, in this case the “Patriarch,” as its “Great Master and Father.” Hence, everyone who remembers the “Patriarch” of Moscow participates in everything that he does on behalf of the Church, and associates himself spiritually with his obvious apostasy and heresy. Knowing this, several priests of the “patriarchy” (just a few!) publicly refused to commemorate “patriarch” Alexy II after his speech to the rabbis. But this weak movement did not last long, some went to the Russian Church Abroad, others remained in the “patriarchy”. What's the matter? Why, seeing the obvious lawlessness, are the current “Orthodox” in Russia silent?

Is it because they themselves, in reality, have long been non-Orthodox, that is, they have lost contact with God, are deprived of a canonical sense of justice and feeling for the Church?

The destruction of heresy, in this case ecumenism, lies in the fact that it completely cuts off from Christ, deprives the grace of the Holy Spirit of that church community that has deviated into heresy. From this point of view, they have been talking about the lack of grace of the Moscow false patriarchy for a long time since 1927. The concept of “gracelessness” (or “gracelessness”) needs clarification. In a general and broad sense, the word “grace” of God (“grace” of the Holy Spirit) means the life-giving presence of the Divine in all of His Creation, without which nothing could exist at all. Therefore, every human soul is lived by the Holy Spirit, including even the soul of an atheist or Satanist, while he lives on earth. If we keep in mind such a broad understanding of the concept of “grace,” then it acts everywhere, including in relation to heretics (in the direction of admonishing them), and similarly in churches and among the people of the “patriarchy,” sometimes giving them various evidence in the form of certain experiences, even signs. The Spirit is one, but His actions are different... One way of acting in people outside Christ, outside the Church, and another in the Church, in the Body of Christ. Here, in the Church, the grace of the Holy Spirit first of all reveals itself in the performance of the seven church sacraments, which give people the “seven gifts of the Holy Spirit” and other spiritual gifts for salvation, including the ability to see the truth in the phenomena and things of the surrounding life. This is only the Church’s special understanding of the word “grace.” Therefore, when theologians, in general church people they talk about the “grace” or “gracelessness” of the Church they mean the second, special, or narrow meaning of these concepts, specifically whether the sacraments are performed or not performed in the Church (whether they are valid or not).

We remember how the Hieromartyr Metropolitan of Kazan Kirill (Smirnov) discussed the sacraments of the Sergian “patriarchy”. The essence of his judgment is that the sacraments are performed for those who accept them “in simplicity,” unaware of the apostasy of Sergius and his Synod. These sacraments can be saving and valid. But they are committed unconditionally to condemn the perpetrators themselves, as well as those who know about their betrayal and apostasy and resort to them. Therefore, those who know should not accept the sacraments from the Sergians. Other clergy (and there were many of them) believed that the sacraments were not performed at all in the “patriarchy”.

This point of view became especially widespread in the post-war period, when it became obvious that the recreated “patriarchy” faithfully serves not Christ, but the Antichrist Soviet regime, and that therefore the “patriarchy” is no longer the Russian Orthodox Church, but the “Soviet Church”, as it often called abroad. The Russian Church Abroad admitted that only certain “reverent” priests in the “patriarchy” could perform the sacraments, be valid, and therefore effective. This was the thin thread that still connected the ROCOR with the ROC in Russia and allowed the former to consider itself only part of the Russian Church, the basis of which, after all, is in Russia. As for the apostate clergy, for example, Metropolitan Vitaly, First Hierarch of the ROCOR, said that he would never believe that the sacraments of the Church were performed at the hands of KGB agents... Many people thought so too. The uncertainty and ambiguity regarding the validity of the sacraments in the Moscow “patriarchate” stemmed from the fact that, despite the obvious, complete apostasy from Christ and all His truth, in the “patriarchy” until time there was no heresy in a certain classical, theological-academic understanding of it as a doctrine, " condemned by the Councils or the Fathers" (although this is the only thing that can deprive one of grace!).

Perfect, but terrible clarity arose only now. Since the 1960s, as we have seen, a number of heretical teachings corresponding to those teachings that were condemned in ancient times by the Councils and Fathers, especially the ecumenical heresy, and the associated practice of joint prayers with heretics (and now even with Judaists and even with shamans!), certain hierarchs, first “Patriarch” Alexy I (and now Alexy II), Metropolitan Nicodemus and several others like them were clearly cut off from Orthodoxy, deprived of their rank. In this case (i.e., obvious heresy), not even a conciliar decision on defrocking is required, according to the 15th rule of the Double Council of Constantinople and in the sense of the 3rd rule of the Third Ecumenical Council; defrocking occurs in a mystical natural way, which gives the right and even obliges every priest or layman to leave the subordination of such a bishop or patriarch, without waiting for any council decision about him.

"Patriarch" Alexy I and Metropolitan Nikodim, being in this position, i.e. not being actually bishops, nevertheless, they continued to ordain other people as bishops and priests, who thereby also were not actually either bishops or priests (i.e., the sacrament of the priesthood was not performed on them). Does this mean that other sacraments of the Church, performed by such imaginary bishops and priests, have definitely become invalid, i.e., have ceased to be performed? We do not undertake to answer this question, because it exceeds our understanding. We can only definitely note that, along with clear evidence of God’s care for sincere believers (even miracles), in the “patriarchy” over the past 10, 20, 30 years one could observe a noticeable steady impoverishment of God’s grace in church life, in the souls and lives of clergy and parishioners. By the 1980s, the entire episcopate of the “patriarchy” consisted either of ecumenists or of imaginary bishops ordained by them (bishops of the old, canonically legal consecration, who, moreover, were not involved in any way in ecumenism and did not agree with it - such bishops passed away). Only a few priests remained, ordained by real, not imaginary, bishops. But their number also decreased noticeably and quickly. And the number of those of them who resolutely did not recognize the Sergian apostasy and ecumenical heresy of their ruling hierarchs is even faster.

All this means that from about the mid-1970s, in the vast majority of parishes of the Moscow “patriarchate”, the validity of the sacraments of the Church became extremely doubtful. Except, perhaps, only the sacrament of Baptism, since according to the rules of the Church, in exceptional cases it can be performed by a simple layman, even by a woman.

Sacred rites almost everywhere became imaginary, like everything, or almost everything, in the “patriarchy.” For for a long time (and now even more so) everything in it, or almost everything, is only depicted (designated) but not accomplished (does not happen)... The Moscow “patriarchy” has become something like a ghost, or a mirage of the Orthodox Church: it beckons from afar , and when you come up there’s emptiness. Others define the “patriarchy” as a grandiose theater, where there is a constant performance on church themes in Orthodox decorations, vestments, cassocks and an endless stream of Orthodox words, but the life of the Church does not occur. In the souls of a praying audience, such a performance is capable of evoking a whole range of different feelings: tenderness, peace, pleasure, admiration, regret for sins, that is, definitely some catharsis (purification)! But no more than for the theatrical audience itself - a good secular play, a smart poem, soulful music, or a touching song... Almost no one wants to see that all these are human emotional emotions, which modern believers willingly (!) accept as grace Holy Spirit! Oh, if only they were not mistaken! If indeed the grace and power of the Holy Spirit acted through the "patriarchy"! the “patriarchy” holds and stands - this life, the souls of these people would never have reached such a monstrous state in which they now find themselves! Now it is no longer surprising that the terrible phenomenon is that various sorcerers and occultists (say, yogis, or theosophists) and almost Satanists began to come to Orthodox churches in order to “recharge,” as they say, with energy from the icons, the general furnishings of the temple and church services... If this energy were truly the power of the Holy Spirit, all this evil spirits would run away from churches, and would not be drawn to them!

It is quite obvious that such a degeneration or degeneration of the hierarchy and clergy of the “patriarchy” should have corresponded (and corresponded) to some deep change in the state of the masses themselves.

The collapse process here occurred around the same period, in the second half of the 1970s. When the CPSU, with a significant amount of truth, discovered and announced that by this time a “new historical community - the Soviet people” (who immediately called themselves “scoops” ...) had formed in the multinational USSR. By this time, almost all the people of the “old generation”, although they were in the minority, but in many ways “set the tone” in the parishes, and still retained much of the truly Orthodox spirit and consciousness, left earthly life. The main and decisive mass of parishioners , setting the tone, began to be made up of those who sometimes talk about themselves: “Komsomol members of the 30s,” that is, completely Soviet believers. Brought up in lies and on lies, they fully believe it and want to believe it\ Their fundamental psychological feature is precisely that they willingly accept what they want, what is officially proclaimed as reality! Long ago, through the full recognition of the Bolshevik regime, they received from God, in the words of the Apostle, “the effect of delusion,” so that “they began to believe lies”... Therefore, they are completely content with appearance instead of reality, designation instead of accomplishment, appearance and not essence. Having themselves gone through the school of Komsomol-party-public Soviet werewolfism, when in public it is one thing, but in thoughts (and secret affairs) another, and accustomed to thinking that “this is how it should be,” they fully accept the werewolf state, the werewolf church, werewolf bishop or priest. For such “believers” it is only important that the werewolf is sufficiently accurate, that is, that everything done in the “patriarchy” is depicted and designated in accordance with the external Orthodox rite, bylaws. Rite and ritual became the center of faith. To belong to Orthodox rite became the main and, perhaps, the only condition for “salvation in God” (through the church) in the eyes of the “scoop” believers, who did not even want to hear that such “salvation” could turn out to be imaginary.

This explains the striking fact that, contrary to all expectations, when at the turn of 1990 believers in the USSR received real (and not imaginary!) freedom, almost no one, with the exception of the very few people, came out to it\ And in 1990 g., that is, when the “Iron Curtain” collapsed, alienating the Soviet people from the rest of the world, a historic decision was made by the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia to accept under its omophorion (in its jurisdiction) all those in the Soviet Union who do not want to remain in the apostate and the heretical Moscow false patriarchy, but they wished to be in the Russian Church true and intact and ask the ROCOR for this! And there were requests. At the same time, many of the miraculously surviving communities of the Catacomb Church came out of hiding. So from this historical milestone, since 1990, the Lord has given a real opportunity to all those seeking truth, to all who would like a real Orthodox, and not a false church life, to find such a life.

Only a few thousand responded, millions remained in the “patriarchy”! And why should they leave the “patriarch” and his bishops if the “scoop” believers did not demand anything from their clergy other than the “decent” performance of the prescribed services and requirements. The hierarchy and the people of the "patriarchy" were united in spirit and consciousness, fully understood each other, played together in " Orthodox faith"Playing is always easier than living; the appearance of truth is always easier than the truth itself, because truth requires heroism, confession, real repentance and the real transformation associated with it, a radical change in both the way of life and the way of thinking! Believers "scoops" are always they wanted only one thing - to be considered (and to think of themselves in their own eyes) as Orthodox, being saved. Therefore, from their bishops and priests they did not demand anything else but the appearance, appearance, imaginary of Orthodoxy, and not its power. When the rank, the charter are filled life-giving grace of the Holy Spirit, then they are indeed very important and valuable, so that sometimes it is scary to change even the slightest thing in them. But when there is no Holy Spirit inside, then the order, ritual, rule immediately turn into a dead scheme, “killing the letter.” Strictly it is possible to adhere to this scheme and letter only in that most interesting case, when in them alone you place the whole work of your salvation! do not recognize these ranks, openly professing the possibility of changing them in the spirit of modernism, in the “spirit of the times.”

Only after this milestone, after 1990, in a situation and atmosphere of relative civil freedom, and especially after the abolition of the CPSU in 1991, provoked by an imaginary “putsch,” and even the Soviet government in 1993 (!), did the following become clear. The “Patriarchy” in the former Soviet of Deputies was not at all unfree, enslaved by the “Church of Silence,” as it was often called. Its hierarchs have been pleasing the Bolshevik regime for a very long time, not at all under coercion, not under pressure, but completely voluntarily and from the heart! They were not the “new martyrs” for the Church as they were presented to the flock, and as some outside observers tended to see them. The fact is that the Sergian-style episcopate of the “patriarchy”, with each successive generation (replenishment), increasingly fraternized and became friends with the partycrats, with the nomenklatura of the CPSU, as the moral and ideological decomposition of the nomenklatura! So the bishops of the “patriarchy”, especially the highest ones, i.e., those who hold real power in the church, became one with the partyocracy in spirit, in their way of thinking, even in many respects in language (newspaper stamps in their sermons and speeches a phenomenon noticed for a long time). If there can be anything more contemptible in the world than the Soviet “cultural intelligentsia,” then it is only the episcopate of the Moscow “patriarchate”! The princes (and "princelets") of the church, just like the party boyars, began to be distinguished by incredible arrogance and swagger towards their subordinates, and the lowest servility towards their superiors, acquired houses, dachas-palaces, a crowd of sycophants-servants, and all sorts of luxury. Just like the partocrats, the fat bishops of the “patriarchy” became embezzlers and swindlers, acquiring the amazing ability to look with honest, clear eyes at their interlocutor or at their flock and deliberately deceive them in the most convincing way. Deceit, endless deceit in almost everything, has become a genuine second nature of the “patriarchal” hierarchy. “Who are you going to mess with!..” If ecumenism made the Moscow “patriarchy” one in spirit with all those heretics and even non-Christians with whom it entered into spiritual communion through joint prayers, then Sergianism made it one with the partocracy. Now that the partyocracy itself has abolished the communist ideology that constrains it, and even its own party, in order to become openly private owners of the enormous funds stolen from the country and people, and has therefore “repainted” itself as democracy, but still holds power in Russia, the “patriarchy” is still one with her, serving her on mutually beneficial terms. However, as we have seen, from now on the “patriarchy” began to focus more and more openly on the real masters of the situation - the Jews.

Like all businessmen of this world, the bishops of the “patriarchy” could no longer maintain true church brotherhood and friendship in their relations with each other. Jealousy, envy, hostility, intrigue and denunciation of each other became the norm in their relationships. The same was passed on to the clergy. If there are several priests in a parish, then there can never be sincere friendship between them; Jealousy and envy have become the norm here. There can no longer be any talk of Christian love in the clergy.

"The fish begins to rot from the head." This state and behavior of the hierarchy of the Moscow “patriarchy” was transmitted, not without opposition, down through the middle clergy “to the people, to the flock, where they met the strongest and longest resistance. But over time, the flock also “surrendered.” In it, in the mass parishioners of the churches of the “patriarchy” are extremely depleted mutual love, increasingly being replaced by jealousy, envy, such terrible anger against each other (especially in the choirs and at the money “boxes”) that you will not find in worldly institutions! In the very last 10 years, things began to reach the point of pathological fear of each other due to suspicions of witchcraft! Many in churches are now afraid to accept prosphora or kutya or a candle from each other... Where faith has dried up, all kinds of superstitions have grown up like filthy mushrooms! And that is to say, they really do cast a spell! And not only in villages, but also in cities, and quite educated people at that! They learn from each other the techniques of “black” and “white” magic, hexes, “turns” and “love spells”. The healers send their “patients” to certain priests, and they, in turn, send their “patients” to the healers. Healers-healers also appeared among the clergy. So one priest reads a prayer over the sick with the words: “On the sea-okiyan, on the island of Buyan...” People come to him in large numbers, not only from the diocese, but also from other regions. The income is very large. The priest generously shares it with the bishop, and therefore the bishop does not touch it, despite the indignation of his brethren and some believers!.. “Damage” and the “evil eye” have become the most common diseases among parishioners. Medicine is powerless in such cases; it cannot even establish any diagnosis. And people suffer terribly! You need to see (especially in villages) this damaged, twisted, mutilated humanity! And all this is from our own people, out of envy, revenge, and just like that, out of “love of art.”

Where hostility has taken the place of love, there is anything, but not the Church of Christ, especially not the Russian Orthodox Church.

The quality of faith has changed beyond recognition. In simpler people, from that social environment, where to this day they sincerely believe that an abandoned temple is very convenient as a toilet, in people from this environment, faith has long turned into a kind of church-like paganism, where everything comes down to the matter of “sacrifices” to God in order to so that He does not punish or give what is asked. In people of a higher cultural level, along with this, a thirst for “spiritual experiences” is also noticeable. But if there is no genuine grace of the Holy Spirit and the high feelings it evokes, then they try to portray them, that is, to artificially recreate them. And the result is “charm” in the form of exaltation of various degrees, often leading to mental and mental disorder of varying degrees. So now among the believing intellectuals, the most zealous ones are always, necessarily and certainly the mentally (or nervously) sick people. On this basis, the phenomena of false “seniority” and the “deification” of young archimandrites by crazed hysterics flourished especially magnificently in the “patriarchy.” Unlike St. John of Kronstadt, the archimandrites (abbots, hieromonks and other “blessed priests”) do not drive such people away from them, but encourage them in every possible way, sometimes creating real gangs of these fans that terrorize morally (and even physically!) the rest of the believers. This terrible phenomenon already has a clearly expressed Antichrist character. One of the admirers of such an archimandrite very accurately said: “Our God is father!” The thirst to have a “living god,” a man-god whom one could pacify in life, is what lies behind it. The era of “personality cults” was not in vain. How many hundreds, thousands (!) of souls throughout Russia have been hopelessly spoiled by these newly minted “elders”, “gracious” mentors and “miracle workers”! Genuine eldership ceased long ago. Some widely revered monastics from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, the Riga Hermitage and other places, with all due respect to them, cannot be called elders. If only because they were silent all the years of Khrushchev’s mockery of the Church, they are silent now, after the speech of the “patriarch” before the rabbis, without blessing others to speak. Why? Because the “patriarchy” has constantly instilled and continues to instill in its flock that in the Church “obedience is higher than fasting and prayer,” forgetting to explain that this applies to the real Church, and not to the heretical one, not to the fake one, to the genuine church life, and not the fake one! They, these no doubt diligent and sincere monastics, also mistake the “patriarchy” for the Russian Orthodox Church, i.e. They also believe lies, encouraging those who trust them to believe.

All the temporary earthly prosperity of the “patriarchy” can only be supported by this lie. Therefore, she constantly instills in her “flock” that the Russian Church Abroad (which managed to preserve everything that was lost by church life in Russia!) is the “Karlovak Schism,” a community of renegades who fled abroad (when “we all suffered here”!), who became schismatics who live on American money and are now trying to insult “the people of God”(!), i.e. the existing sheep of the “patriarchal flock” in Russia with their denunciations and revelations. Everything inside out, “from a sore head to a healthy one”! But that's how it's supposed to be for werewolves...

In this state of affairs, in view of the obvious heresy of the “patriarchy” in ecumenism, with all the ensuing consequences, the position of the Russian Church Abroad has fundamentally changed. Now she is not part of what is mainly in Russia; now the Church Abroad is the only Local Russian Orthodox Church.

It should be noted that in the bosom of the “patriarchy” there were and still are people who are quite honest, who very sincerely turned to God. But they were in the minority, and now there are even fewer of them, and they do not have the opportunity to determine church life. Left only with their human strength, they can’t do much, although they sometimes show examples of asceticism and self-sacrifice.

Phenomena of spiritual ugliness, canonical violations, and moral transgressions are possible and, moreover, natural at any time in the existence of any local Church, since it is not a community of “pure and sinless” people, but rather sinful, damaged people. The Church must therefore be a spiritual healer" for its members, for the flock. Everything depends on the measure and degree of damaged church life. If the Church firmly adheres to the Orthodox Faith and the holy canons "work" in it in relation to both the highest and the lowest, to everyone (!), then it is a truly living organism of the Body of Christ, which is quickened and raised to God by the Holy Spirit. Then the excesses of various deviations, crimes, violations of canons and rules in it are precisely excesses, cases against the background of a generally normal and correct life. If the Church deviates from both the doctrine and the canonical system, it ceases to be the Body of Christ, i.e. the Church, turning into a community where random exceptions are virtues and correct conditions, and the general background and “norm of life” are crimes , retreats, violations... With such an inverted state of affairs, the church situation does not contribute, but rather hinders the salvation of those who trustingly enter into it, it simply destroys them. This is, as we see, the church situation in the Moscow “patriarchate” in full. Now, therefore, it is extremely unclear what the rapid opening of churches and monasteries, all kinds of beautification of some of them, the establishment of Sunday children's schools, and other educational institutions"patriarchy"? Does all this serve spiritual benefit, or further spiritual corruption of people? Most likely, this is an expansion and deepening of the area of lies and destruction, a trap for those who have sincerely reached out to Christ. They will not be able to break through to Him as long as they mistake the “patriarchy” for the Orthodox Church, as long as they believe a lie that is incompatible with the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit.

Some compare the Moscow “patriarchy” with a spiritual desert, with a huge void formed on its “canonical territory,” as it likes to call the lands that were historically subordinate to Moscow (however, it is now unknown which ones exactly?). I think this is inaccurate. What has been said about the “patriarchy” is enough to see the main thing: the Moscow “patriarchy”, as a whole, together with its numerous flock, is not only emptiness, it is “an abomination of desolation standing in a holy place,” that is, in the place of the Russian Orthodox Church in Russia, in the Fatherland.

The Church of the Devil sought precisely this result. But she was deceived. Russian Orthodox People She failed to do so with the “abomination of desolation.” The Judeo-Masonic universal church was able to create this obedient and similar abomination only from a new, different, “Soviet” people (from the “Soviet”), who rejected the love of truth and endlessly believed lies.

In fact, the CPSU was not completely deceiving when it declared that a “new historical community - the Soviet people” had emerged in the USSR. This community or new people actually had some pronounced personal traits and characteristics, which allows us to talk about it, with some explanations, as also about Historical Personality. What are these traits and characteristics?

We have already examined one well - this is the belief of lies. The second trait is exorbitant pride. The third is the criminal (criminal) nature of psychology and consciousness, and, finally, the fourth is godlessness (for some it is ideological, for others it is practical, everyday).

Ethnic Russians (by blood) or Russian-speaking people, as they are now called, continue to occupy a leading place in this “new people” and we are talking only about them.

With such traits and properties, only a group instinct, mistaken for patriotism, can act in the Russian-speaking population of the Russian Federation. There is no sense of spiritual-national unity, as already mentioned.

This group instinct of "scoops" in general for a long time was supported by their general lawless situation and the constantly instilled idea of the superiority of the “Fatherland”, the Union over all the countries of the world!

The superiority was only in military terms. From 1945 to the end of the 1980s, USSR military production reached approximately 80% of total production! This is unprecedented; This has never happened before. The process of expanded reproduction with such proportions could be carried out mainly only due to constant gratuitous injections from the outside! Some costs, of course, were also covered by underpayment to workers, merciless fleecing of the countryside, when all “surpluses” were forcibly taken away from it, bad profits from the sale of raw materials (“petrodollars”), and the robbery of “fraternal countries of socialism.” However, at the same time, a lot of money from the USSR went to support revolutions, uprisings, communist and workers' parties and movements in the countries of America, Asia, Africa and Europe! So there was little left to cover 80% of overhead costs. Where did the rest come from? From Western banks, which, as we know, are mostly in Jewish hands. It turned out that the terrible military power of the USSR was paid for with the funds of the very West against which it was supposedly (!) directed... World Judeo-Freemasonry still needed the terrifying monster of the Soviet military, now atomic threat, in order to speed up the process of consolidation and integration of Europe and the rest of the world under a single leadership. From here it becomes completely clear that the circumstance, unthinkable under normal conditions, is that the inventors atomic bomb(including Oppenheimer, Niels Bohr and others) immediately deliberately gave away the secret of its production to the Soviet Union! Before the eyes of the groaning and aahing world “public opinion,” a well-staged world performance was played out! One of the most important plot lines of this idea was that the “ebullient, powerful, invincible” country of the “Soviet” people almost completely, almost 80%, became vitally dependent on those whom it supposedly opposed and from whom it was fenced off with the “Iron Curtain.” . They, the imaginary “enemies” of the USSR, were the true masters of its politics and economy, and the USSR was a powerful weapon in their hands. So, when Stalin, having done his job in relation to the Russian People, became no longer needed, it was decided to remove him. But what's the best way to do this? It was necessary to show that he was this terrible tyrant-dictator who raised his hand against the Jewish people! The “case” of Jewish doctors was provoked, allegedly being “poisoners” of a number of high party officials and allegedly preparing an attempt on Stalin’s life. Some major security officers were incited to arrange an “exposure” of the poisoning doctors so that Stalin would bring down repressions on all Soviet Jews. Abstractly speaking, we can assume that he could have done this, as he did in relation to several repressed peoples. However, given that Stalin knew very well what the Jews were, what their overt and secret Western leaders were, it is difficult to imagine that he would have decided on mass repressions against the Jews. But the provocateurs only needed one “doctors’ case” to frighten whoever they needed in the West and in Russia with the threat allegedly hanging over the Jewish people in the Soviet Union. And then, as many now say, Kaganovich and Beria tried to “remove” Stalin (especially since Beria himself set his sights on the post of the most important). The matter is dark, much is unclear here, except for one thing: Stalin died on time, when he needed to.

With his death in 1953, the party began to disintegrate. At first only in moral terms, while continuing to be in ideological terms unshakably in their usual positions. Feeling this, the Soviet “public,” where Jewish democratic influence began to operate strongly, quickly freed itself from “ideology.” The period of “kitchen” free-thinking began, when in a narrow circle they began to vilify the communist ideology and the Soviet system “whatever the world stands on,” and the shortest joke became one word “communism.” Having exposed Stalin's "cult of personality", Khrushchev himself suffered from dictatorial habits (by inertia...) and thus, despite the "thaw" he organized in the 1950s, in the 1960s he still continued to keep a tight rein on the party. And the essence of the matter for the West now was that after the “recovery” of the damaged Europe with the help of the American “Marshall Plan”, when it fell under the secret American (i.e. Jewish influence), it was necessary to gradually put an end to the monster of the “communist threat” to the world . This monster was approaching completion of the role that was assigned to it. The Western world was integrated under a single leadership more deeply, more and more successfully. And then in the mid-1960s, from the “visible darkness” or “invisible light”, the decision followed to begin the collapse of the USSR. It was removed from his post Khrushchev. The era of L. I. Brezhnev began "boundless socialism" or the era of "stagnant feast" and "table stagnation". At this very time, in the mid-60s, the United States CIA developed a secret plan to destroy the Soviet Union from within through the introduction of agents (including agents of influence) into the highest echelons of Soviet power. The conditions for this in the plan were considered to be the development of corruption and moral decay of the CPSU, especially the highest nomenklatura. The division of the USSR into its constituent republics was envisaged, through the promotion of nationalist ideas in these republics, as well as the development of a “democratic” (“dissident”) movement in the public of the Union. For the Russian Federation, Russia, a special plan arose that provided for the development of general destabilization in it in order to ultimately, under the noble pretext of protecting the suffering population, as well as (this is the main thing!) - protecting nuclear facilities, introduce Western troops into Russia and the actual rule of the West.

Both of these plans and their further developments were known to the Soviet KGB immediately, in 1966-67. But the Central Committee and the KGB were deliberately directed along the wrong path. In their eyes, the “agents of the hostile West” were not the main ones who actually were, but the Jews and the “dissident democrats” inspired by them. The fact that the latter are truly pro-Western, anti-Soviet people is true, and their movements were indeed used by the CIA and other subversive centers. But under their “smokescreen” there were other forces operating within those in power in the USSR, as if falling out of sight or reach of the KGB. These were large nomenklatura workers both directly in the CPSU, and especially in the corps of directors, among the “dealers in the shadow economy,” which also did not arise by chance, but through a deliberately idiotic system of bureaucratic norms of the “planned” economy. In the 1970s, on command, those irreconcilable contradictions of a socio-economic and ideological-political nature that were embedded in the very foundation of the Bolshevik regime, and which we have already talked about, began to “work out” more and more strongly. More and more secret anti-Soviet organizations and groups appeared, which began to emerge among educated youth and students since the 1950s. In the 1960s and especially the 70s, an open “dissident” movement, both purely political and ecclesiastical, ideologically joined them. The latter arose in connection with a noticeable appeal to faith more intellectuals. But the church “dissidents,” as well as the political ones, were no longer guided by the Orthodox-Russian ideology, but most of all by the Western-democratic one (freedom and individual rights!). Why did the same Jews (including Jewish priests) begin to play the most active role in this movement? Of course, all this was used by the West, even against the will of the fighters for justice. The situation was repeated when it was equally bad to serve the regime and to oppose it.

It didn't take much to destroy the Union. It was simply necessary to deprive him of “infusions” from the outside. And it was most convenient to stop, or gradually reduce, financial and economic assistance to the Soviet Union under the pretext of persecution of Jews and, insofar as, of democrats, of all dissidents in general. What a violation of “human rights”! And so a painfully familiar state of affairs arose: the Jews were the highest, standing in key positions; departments of Ministries and departments, in the party apparatus, in local authorities, in supply and trade continue to hold all the main keys and threads of the politics and economy of the USSR, in fact they run the country, and for the Jewish plebeians in the 1960s and 1970s certain oppressions were carried out . Public opinion of the "Soviet" people is also to some extent turned against Jews and intellectuals. This is that “state anti-Semitism”, which, on the one hand, rallies Soviet Jews around their spiritual leaders and encourages many to leave the Union, and, on the other hand, outrages “world” public opinion.” A win-win game!

In 1985, certain regime workers, primarily M.S. Gorbachev was told from the “invisible light”: “It’s time to finish.” And the “infusions” were sharply reduced. Gorbachev had no choice. “Perestroika” began and everything fell into the abyss that opened before our eyes in 1990 and 1994! The USSR collapsed, severing economic ties, these blood vessels and nerves of the economy, in Russia, general destabilization is developing at an increasing speed, threatening a bloody “war of all against all.” Let's not forget that the Bolshevik government (and therefore everything created by it) was cursed from the very beginning, back in 1918...

It is not difficult to see that the collapse of everything was accelerating due to the internal decomposition of the “Soviet people”, the disintegration of the “Soviet people”. For almost forty years (!) he was allowed to live in conditions of peace and very relative (minimal) material security, which in itself has a destructive effect on any people. But at the same time, the “Soviet people” were allowed to amuse themselves with the feeling of their imaginary universal greatness and significance, which was, perhaps, the only and most powerful means of cementing them. But without having time to consolidate themselves into a “new historical community” in this way, the Russian-speaking “scoops” found themselves in conditions where this “community” simply crumbled into rubble, into sand. And it became clear that this was not the Russian people at all, that it was not even a people at all, since from the beginning it was completely devoid of a spiritual and religious basis! And that's all because the basis new religion Bolshevism, which they still tried to introduce into the soul of the new people on the territory of the former Russia, is satanic. But the devil cannot create real unity, but only division and enmity. The occult-Masonic idea of a “homunculus” - a new man (and a new people from such “homunculi”) did not come true. The “Homunculus” turned out to be simply mentally ill, the “new people”, the Russian-speaking “scoops” - rotten, rubble, uncemented by virtually nothing (except perhaps “total schizophrenia”).

The beginning of the disintegration and scattering of the “Soviet” forces, as is customary, was laid by the party. The criminal nature of its political consciousness (when “everything is permitted” and all means are good to achieve the goal) allowed most of its nomenclature to quickly become ordinary, criminal criminals. Accumulating huge public and state funds, the partycrats first came into contact with the “corps of directors” with the businessmen of the “shadow economy”, then through them with the criminal world in the usual sense. Having become secret owners of huge capital, the party-Soviet-economic “leaders”, naturally, could not deal with them under the conditions of imaginary socialism and the dominance of the ideology of the CPSU. Therefore, as soon as they were “pushed” (from the West), they immediately slammed their own party with its official ideology and even the Soviet government. This was done in two provocations on August 1991 and October 1993, which were carefully prepared with the participation and consultation of Western intelligence services, information about which was leaked even to the media.

However, having become the owners of capital, and through this inevitably becoming dependent on the world Jewish banking capital, the partycrats were faced with the problem of their placement and use, i.e. distribution and redistribution of wealth and objects of the country's national economy, its finances. This inevitably causes a desperate struggle between the owners of the initial capital. Having split into “clans,” the new owners waged this struggle among themselves, as well as with those who came not from them, but from the shadow economy “without demand,” and those who, believing in calls for a “market economy,” began to develop their business from scratch, without initial capital. In this fight, of course, they began to involve the “Zone” and the criminal world (and he himself was not averse to getting involved in such and such a mess), and a bloody struggle for money, power, and opportunities began. This is the whole essence of the so-called “reform policy” of the early 1990s.

And under the sound of this “troubled water”, the actual power in the public sector of life, public administration, was taken by the Jews. It is quite possible to judge who really rules the former Russia now only by looking at the faces of at least the president’s entourage and members of the Presidential Council, as well as other current “leaders” on TV. It came to this comedic curiosity that the leader of one of the most Russian-national parties became V. Zhirinovsky, who in fact is Eidelstein! And the majority of Russian-speaking “Soviet” people voted for him, for his liberal democratic party in the elections of December 12, 1993. On this occasion, V. Novodvorskaya (also a Jew) publicly stated on television: “If they voted for Zhirinovsky, then let this country go to hell, let these people go to hell!” Frankness, really, even pretty! But here’s the question: why did the majority of Russian-speaking “Soviet” people vote for Zhirinovsky? Simply because it promises rapid material prosperity, liberation from Jewish dominance, state power and expansion of the “Power” right up to the Indian Ocean. Did they really believe this? Nothing like this. It just looks beautiful! The “Sovki” showed one of their main properties - the desire to believe lies... It can therefore be stated that the Russian-speaking “Sovki” are not only a deceived “people”, but a people who themselves want to be deceived!

However, the number of people who took part in the voting on December 12, 1993. according to party lists, this is still far from the majority of the population of the Russian Federation. It, as we said, split into many groups, groups, and simply scattered into individuals who did not participate in any parties. What else can you expect from the population of the former USSR if, according to doctors, since the 1960s, here, mainly in Russia, not a single mentally healthy child is or can be born (!). All newborns are born with varying degrees of brain damage! This is due to the environmental situation (poisoned environment, Russian nature!) and bad heredity (alcoholism and mental illness of parents). Following the collapse into crime of partocrats and the like, there was a collapse into open total crime of the huge mass of Russian-speaking “Soviet” people. Maniacal murderers, rapists, robbers, crazed hooligans, “limitless” thieves and swindlers, fornicators and sexual perverts, child molesters have become a phenomenon of life, a problem in the life of modern Russia! A real life in the original Great Russian ancient regions and cities, it is now organized and controlled not only by Jews, but also firmly in these Vologda and Uglich by Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Chechens and other “persons of Caucasian nationality” who have settled. The same is true in Moscow, where the city center (at least) is now largely the domain of the Tatars. Crime is “attacking” the state; in many ways it is already leading state institutions. They don't know what to do with her. The collapse of industrial production threatens catastrophic levels of unemployment, and then the desperate, starving “scoops” will have no choice but to rob and kill each other and everyone who comes along. The threat of criminal or hooligan launching of atomic charges also arises. From the 1980s to the early 1990s, in Klyuchevsky’s words, the amount of good in the moral circulation of the “soviet people” sharply decreased. Anger, irritability and cruelty began to largely determine the atmosphere of life. So in the near future it is quite possible to introduce foreign troops into the Russian Federation, as a truly saving measure for everyone. The Bolsheviks and Jews were and are being helped by demons. Their legions invaded the territory of the former Russia, not protected by the prayer and intercession of the Orthodox Church. Not only the Bolshevik ugly upbringing and education, not only the influence of the surrounding life, but precisely the massive attack of the demons themselves can explain the colossal damage to the mental activity and consciousness of the “Soviet” people, their sometimes unnatural mutual misunderstanding, especially in Russian-speaking families. The breakdown of the family as a social disaster arose simultaneously with the invention and use of atomic weapons, based on the chain reaction of nuclear decay.

The chain reaction of the collapse of everything struck former Russia. Let us now remember what Holy Father John of Kronstadt said about this! Movements such as V. Anpilov's "Labor Russia", A. Prokhanov's "Day", G. Zyuganov's Communist Party, or V. Klykov's Slavic Foundation are trying in vain to resist the collapse. They and those adjacent to them form the largest fragment of the Soviet people, who see their unity in the “power”, where believers and non-believers, through common efforts in an atmosphere of civil harmony, create a “bright future” under the symbol of the pentagram and the icon of the bald “leader”. Although this is the most numerous area of public life (in Moscow alone there are hundreds of thousands, and across Russia there are millions!), they are doomed to collapse. For the same reason that they all fell apart: it is impossible to combine the incompatible red banner with the monarchical one, the portrait of Stalin with the icon of the Virgin Mary, as is done at the meetings and processions of these movements. This is socio-political schizophrenia. Light and darkness, Christ and Belial cannot have anything in common. The Russian People have nothing in common with the “Soviet people,” or the genuine Russian Orthodox Church has anything in common with the Moscow “Patriarchy.” The idol of the “fatherland” (without Orthodoxy and Autocracy) is not capable of reviving Russia, its people are not capable. In addition, the demons, as they wish, mock the “patriotic” consciousness of the “Soviet people” and especially the leaders of patriotic associations.

This is the end of the “new historical community”. Now about her, about this Russian-speaking people of the “Soviet” as a whole, we can say what, as we remember, in 1899 Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) said only about a certain part of the Russian People: “This is no longer a people, but a rotting corpse that He takes his rotting for life, and only moles, worms and filthy insects live on it and in it, rejoicing that the body is dead and rotting, for in a living body there would be no satisfaction for their greed, there would be no life for them.” One can also recall Himmler’s words that in central Russia there should live a stupid population of a primitive half-Jewish type. This is what it has become now.
